ASSIGNMENT
Application of Assembly Line Balancing in Apparel Manufacturing T SHIRT
Line balancing problem is one of the important problems for the manufacturing sectors.Especially labor-
intensive productions, such as apparel sector this situation is more evident. Production line balancing is
of great importance in apparel manufacturing processes which works a large number of employees. In
this assignment, production line balancing of t-shirt manufacturing in an apparel factory is analyzed.

Theoretical Minimum Number of Workstations




Theoretical minimum number of work stations required is 5 but as per the operation precedence and
requirement we will have to use 6 workstations as described below in table 2.

Idle time of work stations:
Station 1=0.02min, Station 2=0.04min, Station 3=0.49min, Station 4=0.37min, Station 5=0.02min,
Station 6=0.64min.

Bottle Neck Work Station: Station 1 and 5 are bottle neck stations as they have the least idle time.
