Missing lengths of
the hypotenuse
Who is Pythagorus?
Pythagoras was very well
educated. He had interests in
mathematics, philosophy, astronomy
and music. He started to teach math
and had very well. He even began a
school. His teaching methods were
not liked by the leaders of Samos. So
he left the school. Pythagoras studied
even and odd numbers, perfect
numbers, and triangular numbers.
Pythagoras had a good understanding
of areas and triangles.
Pythagorean theorem:
The pythagorean is nding the length
of a missing hypotenuse or the
missing leg on a triangle. The
equation for the theorem is a!+b!=c!
but if the triangles has a missing leg the
equation is c!"b!=a! or c!"a!=b!. A and B
are the missing legs.
