One thing Canada is famous for is maple syrup. Maple syrup is made from
the sap of maple trees.
Sap was discovered long ago by native americans. It is harvested in the
spring. Traditionally, buckets were used to collect the sap, these days maple
trees are equipped with special tubing.
The net step is to transfer the sap to a sugarhouse. !ere the sap is boiled
down into syrup. "efore the syrup is bottled, it is filtered.
#eople typically eat syrup with panca$es, french toast and waffles. Maple
syrup is also used to flavor fish, meat, salad and ice creams.
