Checking the Status of IDU ( VSAT Modem )

1) First of all ping the IP address of IDU.

i) If reply is coming , it means connectivity between PC and IDU is O.K.
ii) If request time out is coming , it means connectivity between PC and IDU is
not O.K.
Possible causes and remedies

i) LAN Cable is not properly connected , please connect it properly.

ii) LAN Cable may be faulty , please replace it.
iii) LAN Port of IDU or PC may be faulty , please call to VSAT HUB Bangalore
at TOLL Free Number :- 1800 425 2727

2) If IDU IP address is pinging , then ping VSAT HUB Bangalore IP

address i.e 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.57.
i) If reply is coming from any one of the above two IP addresses , it means
VSAT connectivity is O.K.
ii) If request time out is coming , please call to VSAT HUB Bangalore.

3) If VSAT connectivity is O.K. but internet is not working , then open

the Local Area Connection page and ping the both Preferred and Alternate DNS
Server IP address. For internet DNS IP address should ping , if it is not pinging
then ping the following IP addresses.

i) 4.2.2.2
ii) 61.1.96.69
iii) 61.1.96.71
iv) 203.192.33.34
v) 218.248.240.23
vi) 218.248.240.135

If any one or two above IP addresses are pinging then change the DNS Server IP
address.
If none of the IP addresses are pinging , then it is the common problem for all
VSATs and call to VSAT HUB Bangalore.

Ping Test
Click Start and then click RUN
Type CMD and then click OK.
One page will open and you type ping command in that page.

For example. Ping 10.251.5.17 –t and then enter.

Opening the Home Page of IDU

Click Internet Explorer ( IE ).

In address bar type IDU IP address like below.
For example :-
http://10.251.5.17:8080/xwebgateway.cgi and then enter.

i) If switch is not there and ATA is not there , then

Opening of Local Area Connection

Double click Local Area Connection , Click Properties and then double click Internet
Protocol ( TCP / IP ).

IP address :- PC IP address
Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.248
Default Gateway :- IDU IP address
