Reflection 2

In my english class i have grown as a student by reading a novel, analyzing the
contents, and comparing it to an issue that is occurring now. The book that we had to
read was called Catcher in the Rye the main character Holden goes through difficult
times in his life. The project was to find an issue related to the main character and
discuss about it, in presentation, video, argument, etc. What I did was i made a video
that discussed about depression which is one of the issues the Holden faces. through
my video i discussed the different statistics on how many Americans are in depression. I
found That those who are usually in depression are teens ranging from about 13 to 25.
In this video I talked about depression on many levels and what are the causes and the
effects or what depression will lead to. which was suicide. The video starts out by
talking about depression the cause and effects , then it goes into comparison with the
book and that similarities. Finally it talks about how the people could help those who are
in depression, I also named an organization that specially helps with depression. The
changes that i would have made where the order and the organization of the pictures i
used. I also wished to have added a better soundtrack than the one I used.

Ive grown as a global citizen in my History class because we the students had to
make a video that juxtaposed the conflict in world war two of 1940 and the conflict that
is occurring in Ukraine in 2014 now. In this project we had to team up with one partner.
My partner and I have research about what the issues in Ukraine where and how its
connected to World War two. We not only researched but used the knowledged about
the matter the we already know. In the video we used pictures throughout the whole
video and just narrated. In the beginning we talked about how in Ukraine they are
debating whether to join russia or to join United Nations. Because of this the country is
split into two part those who wish to join Russia and those who want to be part of the
UN. Riot outbreaks have become more common and to make matters worse the
president of Ukraine fled to another country to avoid violent rebels. What i would have
done differently in this project would be more in depth about the connection between the
two matters
