Tragedy in Darfur
Sudan has been
riddled by violence
and war. Prior to their
gaining independence
in 1956. The rst Civil
War broke out in
Sudan. This war ended
in 1972. The result of
this war was over 2
million deaths and 4
million citizens
displaced in just 2
decades. After
numerous
negotiations, no
further progress was
made and the 2nd civil
war of Sudan was
started in 1983. The
war reached its peak
in the 90's. Sudan just
can't seem to stay
away from the war. It
Tragedy in Darfur Continued
to be getting much better for Sudan
either. Recently in 2003 the ghting and
killings began and people are beginning
to say that this is falling under the
category of a genocide. "On March 4th,
2009, the International Criminal Court
issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese
President Omar Bashir for crimes against
humanity and, in July 2010, a warrant for
arrest charges of genocide".
