Task 2. Speaking. Choose one of the situations below. Work in pairs and prepare a conversation. Use as many of the underlined phrases for making suggestions in Task 1 as you can.
Shall we go to the park in the centre of town for a picnic? a) You are planning to take the children to the park for a picnic. Decide which park to go to, and what food to take in the picnic. Also decide what time you are going to meet. Your partner makes some suggestions. Good idea. Thats a great park because theres lots of space.
b) You are organising a birthday party for your grandfather. You would like it to be a surprise. Decide where you are going to have the party. You make some suggestions.
c) You are planning to hire a coach to take a group of friends and family out of the city for a daytrip. Decide where youre going to go and what you might do. Your partner makes some suggestions.
