Asignificantexperienceintheeighthgradewaslearningabouthowtheworldworksinthe,Oh
thePlacesYoullGoproject.Ilearnedallaboutcollege,expenses,taxes,findingahome,findinga
car,knowingwhatyouwanttodoasacareer,andmanagingyouroverallbudget.Thispeakedmy
interestsinlearningallaboutmyfutureandmappingoutmylife.NowafterthisprojectIknowwhatI
needtodotobesuccessfulinhighschool,college,andaftercollege.

readingbook.IreadTheFaultinourStarsByJohnGreen.Iheardreallygoodthingsaboutthis
bookandexpectedtolikeit,IendedupdreadingeveryturnofthisbookbutIlearnedhowtokeep
myselfengagedinsomethingIdidntwanttodo.ItwasreallyhardtokeepreadingbutIpersevered
throughthebookeventhoughitwasdifficultformetoconnectwiththebookandthecharacters.
ThroughthisIlearnedhowtoperseverethroughhardtimesandcomeoutfinishingalltheworkIhad
todoforthisproject.

Inthepromotitudeprojectwehadtocreatesomethingforsomeonewhohelpedusthroughout
theeighthgrade.Thisprojectrequiredalotofthoughtfulnessandcreativity,formethiswasreally
funandeasy.Icreatedapaintingandawoodphototransferpresentformytwobrothers,Elvis(16)
andNick(12).Wealsohadtodoawritingpieceabouthowtheyhelpedusthroughouttheeighth
grade,mostpeopledidonlyonebutIdidtwo.IthoughtIgainedalotofnewwritingskills,learning
moreaboutmetaphorsandsimiles.ThroughthisprojectIwasabletoreflectonthepeoplewho
helpedmethemostandwasabletocreatesomethingmeaningfultoshowmyappreciationtothem.
