January 21, 1917 : Germany orders
unrestricted Submarine Warfare
-Kaiser Wilhelm IIs order calls for all ships in the war zone to be sunk.
-President Woodrow Wilson finds Germanys policy unacceptable and
breaks diplomatic relations.
-Yet Wilson remained reluctant to join the war.

States territory to Mexico in
return for joining the German
cause

April 6, 1917 : U.S. Enters WWI
Causes:
The sinking of the Lusitania
The Zimmerman note
The fact that Germany was at war with Britain
As a result President Wilson proposed to congress to join the great war, and on
April 6th the US officially entered the war
May 3rd 1917: Mutiny breaks out
among French Troops
At the Battle of Caporetto 20,000 French Troops deserted.
Other Allied Forces kept the attack plan but lost tremendous
casualties while trying to do so.
The victor, Austria-Hungary and Germany gathered the Allied Powers
together at the Rapallo Conference which ended up creating the
Supreme War Council which before Britain and France used to make
separate commands.
November 6, 1917 : The Bolshevik Revolution
-Bolsheviks (a communist party) led by
Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky destroy
the provisional government established
after the removal of Czar Nicholas II.
-They replace it with a non-democratic
Soviet Government based on Marxism.
- Lenin then stated that Soviet Russia will
immediately end its involvement in the
war and rejects all existing treaties with
the Allies, and eventually after much
fighting they sign an armistice with
Germany in December 15 1917.
-would later be the cause of the red scare
in America(1919-1920)
