INTEGRATED PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

PARA EMPEZAR
Unit theme: En la escuela, En la clase, El tiempo
Context for the Integrated Performance Assessment: Your Spanish teacher wants you
to know why Spanish is an important and useful language to learn.
Interpretive Task: Watch the video Why Study Spanish? found on Realidades 1,
DVD 1, Captulo 1A. Make a list of professions where knowing Spanish has been an
asset.
Interpersonal Task: Discuss the professions you learned about on the video with two
other students. Brainstorm other careers or situations in which Spanish could also be an
asset.
Presentational Task: Present your ideas to the class as a whole. Have a fellow student or
the teacher note all the possible uses on the board so that the students can copy the
complete list and keep it in their notebooks for future reference.
