RBS 6000 Commissioning Procedure

1 Introduction
This document describes step-by-step instructions for integration of a RBS 6000 series.
2 Objective
This document serves the purpose of describing the procedure related to the
Commissioning and integration of a RBS 6000 series. This first version will concentrate on the
RBS 60!" the indoor macro version.
3 Prerequisites
Complete RBS carry-in" installation" and chec# power system.
4 Tools for Verification
4.1 PC Tools

*thernet crossover R0>1 to R0>1 cable for RBS-Thin Client connection 7*thernet9.
Serial RS-<C" R0>1-?sub@ cables for RBS-Thin Client connection.
5 Configuration
-n this document the following notation is used for commands.

This would mean that you should enter AteA Bspace #eyC AlogA Bspace #eyC AreadA
and then press Benter #eyC. $ appears when you open a serial connection and
press the return #ey.

6.1 Se""ing "#e la)"o) IP address
The laptop 'C needs to be configured to reach the node for the first time when using the
*thernet connection and the *lement +anager ,pplication and Support -*+,S.. This
section describes changing the TC'(-' setting on the laptop" according to the -'
addressing strategy of the customerAs networ#.

6. Hn the des#top" right-clic# the %& 'et(or) Places (Network Neighbourhood in
NT) icon.
6.< 5rom the submenu" select *Pro"erties+
The 1'et(or) and ,ialu" Connections- $indow opens
Right clic# on the $ocal .rea Connection icon and select *Pro"erties+ from
the drop down menu.
The 2$ocal .rea Connection Pro"erties2 window will open.
Select In"erne" Pro"ocol -TCP/IP. and clic# on 3Pro)er"ies4
The following window opens.

NB! You can avoid this setting if your PC get routing info from eNB. Check this by open an MS-

2etwor#ing convention dictates that the commissioning laptop 7thin client9 address
is eDual to the RBS 2ode *thernet address incremented by one.

The Subnet mas# can be set as follows.

Select 01se t#e follo(ing IP address0 in the TC'(-' properties window.
*nter the -' address for the Faptop 'C 7thin client9" and also enter the Subnet
+as# as detailed above. Chec# that the 01se t#e follo(ing ,'2 server
address0 is selected and that the address and subnet mas# is blan#.
6.% Clic# *O3+ close all the windows.
6.; $ith some operating systems it may be reDuired to restart the Faptop 'C 7thin
client9 to activate the new -' settings.
The Faptop 'C 7thin client9 is now configured.
4 Procedure for integrating e'ode5 for 6ollout7
5ront of $BS) see figure be(o". Seria( port shou(d be connected to 6M, and 7thernet connection
to 6MB. 8N B is the e(ectrica( interface to 8e((abs transport node.

. Transfer over c and d dis# of the Basic 'ac#age dis# by dis# using ftp. Basic 'ac#age

o"#er files or folders s"a$ on RBS. See e3ample in chapter below.
<. ?o reload command on serial interface and the node should come up with basic
configuration 7C&9 after a couple of minutes.
*. Start up *lement +anager by using the following address in the browserE

1. $hen the Client is installed" start it form 'rograms -C *+-,pplication.
6. Jou can either start RBS *lement +anager or RBS Configuraion tool -C -ntegrate RBS.

mode" this is an MidleM mode where the RBS is in a state where it is not in service

RBS 6000 *thernet -' address" using the following format.

e.g. C ifconfigle0169.%:4.1.10 7!6@.1>.!.!0 is the standard address for the e2odeB
when delivered from 2'C 72ode 'roduction Centre9
&erify the -' address that has been input by using the following command" the
reply will show the -' address information that has been set. -f the information is
incorrect set the -' address again. *3ample printout following the MifconfigM command.
