‫ان‬

َ ‫ض‬َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر َر َم‬

allahumma hadha shahru ramadana
O Allah, this is the month of Ramadan

َ ‫ٱلَّذِي َأ ْن َز ْل‬
َ ْ‫ت فِي ِه القُر‬
‫آن‬
alladhi anzalta fihi alqur'ana
in which You revealed the Qur'an,

ِ ‫ت م َِن ْٱل ُه َد ٰى َوٱلفُرْ َق‬

‫ان‬ ِ ‫ُه َدىً لِل َّن‬
ٍ ‫اس َو َب ِّي َنا‬
hudan lilnnasi wa bayyinatin min alhuda walfurqani
a guidance for humankind and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the
right and the wrong).

ِّ ‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ٱل‬

‫ص َي ِام‬
wa hadha shahru alssiyami
This is the month of observing fasting.

‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ْٱلقِ َي ِام‬

wa hadha shahru alqiyami
This is the month of acts of worship.

‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ٱِإل َنا َب ِة‬

wa hadha shahru al-inabati
This the month of turning to You (in penitence).

‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ٱل َّت ْو َب ِة‬

wa hadha shahru alttawbati
This is the month of repentance.

‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ْٱل َم ْغف َِر ِة َوٱلرَّ حْ َم ِة‬

wa hadha shahru almaghfirati walrrahmati
This is the month of forgiveness and mercy.

‫ار َو ْٱل َف ْو ِز ِب ْٱل َج َّن ِة‬

ِ ‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ُر ْٱل ِع ْت ِق م َِن ٱل َّن‬
wa hadha shahru al`itqi min alnnari walfawzi biljannati
This is the moth of release from Hellfire and winning Paradise.

‫َو ٰه َذا َش ْه ٌر فِي ِه لَ ْيلَ ُة ْٱل َق ْد ِر‬

wa hadha shahrun fihi laylatu alqadri
This is the month in which there is the Destiny Night, 

‫ِي َخ ْي ٌر م َِن َأ ْلفِ َشه ٍْر‬

َ ‫ٱلَّتِي ه‬
allati hiya khayrun min alfi shahrin
which is better than one thousand months.
 َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم َف‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma fasalli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫َوَأعِ ِّني َع َل ٰى صِ َيا ِم ِه َو ِق َيا ِم ِه‬

wa a`inni `ala siyamihi wa qiyamihi
help me observe fasting and do acts of worship during it,

‫َو َسلِّ ْم ُه لِي َو َسلِّ ْمنِي فِي ِه‬

wa sallimhu li wa sallimni fihi
keep it upright for me, keep me safe during it,

َ ‫َوَأعِ ِّني َعلَ ْي ِه ِبَأ ْف‬

َ ‫ض ِل َع ْو ِن‬
‫ك‬
wa a`inni `alayhi bi-afdali `awnika
help me observe it with the best of Your help,

‫ك‬َ ‫ك َو َطا َع ِة َرسُول َِك َوَأ ْولِيَاِئ‬ َ ‫َو َو ِّف ْقنِي فِي ِه لِ َط‬
َ ‫اع ِت‬
wa waffiqni fihi lita`atika wa ta`ati rasulika wa awliya'ika
make me succeed in doing acts of obedience to You, to Your Prophet, and Your intimate
servants

‫صلَّ ٰى ٱهَّلل ُ َعلَي ِْه ْم‬

َ
salla allahu `alayhim
upon whom be Your blessings.

َ ‫ِالو ِة ِك َت ِاب‬
‫ك‬ َ ‫َو َفرِّ ْغنِي فِي ِه لِ ِع َبا َد ِت‬
َ ‫ك َو ُد َعاِئ‬
َ ‫ك َوت‬
wa farrighni fihi li`ibadatika wa du`a'ika wa tilawati kitabika
Make me devote myself to acts of worship to You, to praying You, and to reciting Your
Book,

‫َوَأعْ ظِ ْم لِي فِي ِه ٱل َب َر َك َة‬

wa a`zim li fihi albarakata
increase its blessings for me, 

‫َوَأحْ سِ نْ لِي فِي ِه ٱل َعافِ َي َة‬

wa ahsin li fihi al`afiyata
confer upon me with good health during it,

‫َوَأصِ َّح فِي ِه َب َدنِي‬

wa asihha fihi badani
make my body healthy during it,

‫َوَأ ْوسِ عْ فِي ِه ِر ْزقِي‬

wa awsi` fihi rizqi
expand my sustenance during it,
 ‫َوٱ ْكفِنِي فِي ِه َما َأ َه َّمنِي‬
wakfini fihi ma ahammani
save me from whatever aggrieves me during it,

‫َوٱسْ َت ِجبْ فِي ِه ُد َعاِئي‬

wastajib fihi du`a'i
respond to my prayers during it,

‫َو َبلِّ ْغنِي فِي ِه َر َجاِئي‬

wa ballighni fihi raja'i
and make me attain my hope during it.

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫اس َو ْٱل َك َس َل َوٱل َّسْأ َم َة‬

َ ‫َوَأ ْذهِبْ َع ِّني فِي ِه ٱل ُّن َع‬
wa adhhib `anni fihi alnnu`asa walkasala walssa'mata
remove from me during it drowsiness, lethargy, laziness,

‫َو ْٱل َف ْت َر َة َو ْٱل َقسْ َو َة َو ْٱل َغ ْفلَ َة َو ْٱلغِرَّ َة‬

walfatrata walqaswata walghaflata walghirrata
weariness, hardheartedness, inattentiveness, and carelessness. 

‫َو َج ِّن ْبنِي فِي ِه ْٱل ِعلَ َل َوٱَألسْ َقا َم‬

wa jannibni fihi al`ilala wal-asqama
Put aside from me during it illnesses, sicknesses,

َ ‫َو ْٱل ُهمُو َم َوٱَألحْ َز‬

‫ان‬
walhumuma wal-ahzana
grievances, sorrows,

َ ‫اض َوٱَأل ْم َر‬

‫اض‬ َ ‫َوٱَألعْ َر‬
wal-a`rada wal-amrada
ailments, diseases,

ُّ ‫َو ْٱل َخ َطا َيا َو‬

َ ‫ٱلذ ُن‬
‫وب‬
walkhataya waldhdhunuba
wrongdoings, and sins.

‫َوٱصْ ِرفْ َع ِّني فِي ِه ٱلسُّو َء َو ْٱل َفحْ َشا َء‬

wasrif `anni fihi alssu'a walfahsha'a
Send away from me during it evil, indecency,
 ‫َو ْٱل َج ْه َد َو ْٱل َبالَ َء‬
waljahda walbala'a
fatigue, ordeals,

‫ب َو ْٱل َع َنا َء‬

َ ‫َوٱل َّت َع‬
waltta`aba wal`ana'a
tiredness, and suffering.

‫ُّعا ِء‬ َ ‫ِإ َّن‬

َ ‫ك َسمِي ُع ٱلد‬
innaka sami`u alddu`a'i
Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

ِ ‫َوَأعِ ْذنِي فِي ِه م َِن ٱل َّش ْي َط‬

‫ان ٱلرَّ ِج ِيم‬
wa a`idhni fihi min alshshaytani alrrajimi
and protect me during it from Satan the cursed,

‫َو َه ْم ِز ِه َولَ ْم ِز ِه َو َن ْف ِث ِه َو َن ْف ِخ ِه‬

wa hamzihi wa lamzihi wa nafthihi wa nafkhihi
his sting, his slander, his devilry,

‫َو َوسْ َو َس ِت ِه َو َت ْث ِبيطِ ِه َو َب ْطشِ ِه َو َك ْي ِد ِه‬

wa waswasatihi wa tathbitihi wa batshihi wa kaydihi
his evil inspirations, his frustration, his obstinacy, his trickeries,

‫َو َم ْك ِر ِه َو َحبَاِئلِ ِه َو ُخدَعِ ِه َوَأ َما ِن ِّي ِه‬

wa makrihi wa haba'ilihi wa khuda`ihi wa amaniyyihi
his deceptions, his traps, his scams, his false hopes,

‫ُور ِه َوفِ ْت َن ِت ِه َو َش َر ِك ِه َوَأحْ َز ِاب ِه‬

ِ ‫َو ُغر‬
wa ghururihi wa fitnatihi wa sharakihi wa ahzabihi
his vanities, his seductions, his ruses, his allies,

ُ ‫َوَأ ْتبَاعِ ِه َوَأ ْشيَاعِ ِه َوَأ ْولِيَاِئ ِه َو‬

‫ش َر َكاِئ ِه‬
wa atba`ihi wa ashya`ihi wa awliya'ihi wa shuraka'ihi
his followers, his fans, his supporters, his partners,

‫ِيع َم َكاِئ ِد ِه‬

ِ ‫َو َجم‬
wa jami`i maka'idihi
and all his snares.
 َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

‫َوٱرْ ُز ْق َنا قِ َيا َم ُه َوصِ َيا َم ُه‬

warzuqna qiyamahu wa siyamahu
and bestow upon us with the observance of fasting, acts of worship,

‫وغ ٱَأل َم ِل فِي ِه َوفِي قِ َيا ِم ِه‬

َ ُ‫َو ُبل‬
wa bulugha al-amali fihi wa fi qiyamihi
attainment of our hopes during it, by means of doing acts of worship in it,

َ ‫َوٱسْ ِت ْك َما َل َما يُرْ ضِ ي‬

‫ك َع ِّني‬
wastikmala ma yurdika `anni
accomplishment of that which brings about Your pleasure

ً ‫صبْراً َواحْ ِت َسابا ً َوِإيـ َمانا ً َو َيقِينا‬

َ
sabran wahtisaban wa imanan wa yaqinan
by means of steadfastness, acting for Your sake, faith and certitude.

َ ِ‫ُث َّم َت َق َّب ْل ٰذل‬

َ ‫ك ِم ِّني ِبٱَألضْ َعافِ ْٱل َكث‬
‫ِير ِة‬
thumma taqabbal dhalika minni bil-ad`afi alkathirati
Then (please) admit all that from me with manifold rewards

‫َوٱَألجْ ِر ْٱل َعظِ ِيم‬

wal-ajri al`azimi
and great gifts.

َ ‫ٱلعالَم‬
‫ِين‬ َ َّ‫َيا َرب‬
ya rabba al`alamina
O Lord of the worlds!

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي ْٱل َح َّج َو ْٱلعُمْ َر َة‬

warzuqni alhajj wal`umrata
and grant me (the opportunity to go on) Hajj, `Umrah,

‫َو ْٱل ِج َّد َوٱالِجْ ِت َها َد‬

waljidda walijtihada
hard work, painstakingness,
 ‫َو ْٱلقُوَّ َة َوٱل َّن َشا َط‬
walquwwata walnnashata
power, activity,

‫َوٱِإل َنا َب َة َوٱل َّت ْو َب َة‬

wal-inabata walttawbata
turning to You, repentance,

‫ِيق َو ْٱلقُرْ َب َة‬

َ ‫َوٱل َّت ْوف‬
walttawfiqa walqurbata
success, seeking Your nearness,

‫َو ْٱل َخي َْر ْٱل َم ْقبُو َل َوٱلرَّ ْغ َب َة َوٱلرَّ هْ َب َة‬

walkhayra almaqbula walrraghbata walrrahbata
admitted good-doing, desire (for You), fear (from You),

‫وع‬
َ ‫ش‬ُ ‫ضرُّ َع َو ْٱل ُخ‬
َ ‫َوٱل َّت‬
walttadarru`a walkhushu`a
submission (to You), meekness,

‫َوٱلرِّ َّق َة َوٱل ِّن َّي َة ٱلصَّا ِد َق َة‬

walrriqqata walnniyyata alssadiqata
tenderness, sincere intention,

ِ ‫َوصِ ْد َق ٱللِّ َس‬

‫ان‬
wa sidqa allisani
truthfulness,

‫ك‬َ ‫َو ْٱل َو َج َل ِم ْن‬

walwajala minka
dread from You,

‫ك‬َ َ‫َوٱلرَّ َجا َء ل‬

walrraja'a laka
hope for You,
ًُ
َ ‫َوٱل َّت َو ّك َل َعلَ ْي‬
‫ك‬
walttawakkula `alayka
reliance upon You,

َ ‫َوٱل َِّث َق َة ِب‬

‫ك‬
walththiqata bika
trust in You,
 ‫ك‬ ِ ‫َو ْٱل َو َر َع َعنْ َم َح‬
َ ‫ار ِم‬
walwara`a `an maharimika
and abstention from committing that which You have deemed unlawful,

‫صال ِِح ْٱل َق ْو ِل‬

َ ‫َم َع‬
ma`a salihi alqawli
along with decent speaking,

ِ ‫َو َم ْقب‬
ِ‫ُول ٱلسَّعْ ي‬
wa maqbuli alssa`yi
admitted efforts,

‫وع ْٱل َع َم ِل‬

ِ ُ‫َو َمرْ ف‬
wa marfu`i al`amali
elevated deeds,

ِ ‫َومُسْ َت َجا‬
‫ب ٱلدَّعْ َو ِة‬
wa mustajabi aldda`wait
and responded prayers.

َ ِ‫ َوالَ َت ُح ْل َب ْينِي َو َبي َْن َشيْ ٍء مِنْ ٰذل‬ 

‫ك‬
wa la tahul bayni wa bayna shay'in min dhalika
Do not let anything intervene between me and any of these matters,

‫ض‬ٍ ‫ض َوالَ َم َر‬

ٍ ‫ِب َع َر‬
bi`aradin wa la maradin
such as an accidental event, disease,

‫َوالَ َه ٍّم َوالَ َغ ٍّم‬

wa la hammin wa la ghammin
grief, unhappiness,

ٍ ‫َوالَ ُس ْق ٍم َوالَ َغ ْفلَ ٍة َوالَ نِسْ َي‬

‫ان‬
wa la suqmin wa la ghaflatin wa la nisyanin
ailment, inadvertence, or oblivion;

‫ك‬ َ َ‫َب ْل ِبٱل َّت َعا ُه ِد َوٱل َّت َح ُّفظِ ل‬

َ ‫ك َوفِي‬
bal biltta`ahudi walttahaffuzi laka wa fika
rather, (help me do all that) with observance, carefulness to You and for Your sake,

َ ‫ك َيا َأرْ َح َم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫ِب َرحْ َم ِت‬
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
(let all that be) in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
 َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫ِين‬
َ ‫ِك ٱلصَّالِح‬ َ ‫َوٱ ْقسِ ْم لِي فِي ِه َأ ْف‬
َ ‫ض َل َما َت ْقسِ ُم ُه لِ ِع َباد‬
waqsim li fihi afdala ma taqsimuhu li`ibadika alssalihina
decide for me during this month the best of that which You decide for Your righteous
servants,

َ ‫ض َل َما ُتعْ طِ ي َأ ْولِ َيا َء‬

َ ‫ك ْٱل ُم َقرَّ ِب‬
‫ين‬ َ ‫َوَأعْ طِ نِي فِي ِه َأ ْف‬
wa a`tini fihi afdala ma tu`ti awlya'aka almuqarrabina
and give me during it the most favorable of that which You give to Your intimate and
favorite servants;

‫م َِن ٱلرَّ حْ َم ِة َو ْٱل َم ْغف َِر ِة َوٱل َّت َح ُّن ِن َوٱِإل َجا َب ِة‬
min alrrahmati walmaghfirati walttahannuni wal-ijabati
such as mercy, forgiveness, kindness, responding (of prayers),

‫َو ْٱل َع ْف ِو َو ْٱل َم ْغف َِر ِة ٱل َّداِئ َم ِة َو ْٱل َعافِ َي ِة َو ْٱل ُم َعا َفا ِة‬
wal`afwi walmaghfirati aldda'imati wal`afiyati walmu`afati
pardon, perpetual forgiveness, good health, continuous wellbeing,

‫ار َو ْٱل َف ْو ِز ِب ْٱل َج َّن ِة‬

ِ ‫َو ْٱل ِع ْت ِق م َِن ٱل َّن‬
wal`itqi min alnnari walfawzi biljannati
release from Hellfire, winning Paradise,

‫َو َخي ِْر ٱل ُّد ْن َيا َوٱآلخ َِر ِة‬

wa khayri alddunya wal-akhirati
and the goodness of this worldly life and the Next World.

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

ً‫ك َواصِ ال‬

َ ‫َوٱجْ َع ْل ُد َعاِئي فِي ِه ِإلَ ْي‬
waj`al du`a'i fihi ilayka wasilan
and cause my prayers during this month to reach You,

ً‫ازال‬
ِ ‫ك ِإلَيَّ فِي ِه َن‬
َ ‫ك َو َخي َْر‬
َ ‫َو َرحْ َم َت‬
wa rahmataka wa khayraka ilayya fihi nazilan
Your mercy and goodness during it to reach me,

ً‫َو َع َملِي فِي ِه َم ْقبُوال‬

wa `amali fihi maqbulan
 my deed to be accepted (by You),

ً‫َو َسعْ ِيي فِي ِه َم ْش ُكورا‬

wa sa`yi fihi mashkuran
my efforts during it to be praiseworthy,

ً‫َو َذ ْن ِبي فِي ِه َم ْغفُورا‬

wa dhanbi fihi maghfuran
and my sins during it to be forgiven

‫ون َنصِ ِيبي فِي ِه ٱَأل ْك َث ُر‬

َ ‫َح َّت ٰى َي ُك‬
hatta yakuna nasibi fihi al-akthara
so that my share (of Your awards) shall be the most abundant,

‫َو َح ِّظي فِي ِه ٱَأل ْو َف ُر‬

wa hazzi fihi al-awfara
and my portion the most copious.

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

‫َو َو ِّف ْقنِي فِي ِه لِلَ ْيلَ ِة ٱل َق ْد ِر‬

wa waffiqni fihi lilaylati alqadri
and guide me to observe the Destiny Night adequately,

َ ْ‫ك َوَأر‬
َ ‫ضا َها َل‬
‫ك‬ َ ‫ون َعلَ ْي َها َأ َح ٌد مِنْ َأ ْولِيَاِئ‬
َ ‫ال ُتحِبُّ َأنْ َي ُك‬ َ ‫َعلَ ٰى َأ ْف‬
ٍ ‫ض ِل َح‬
`ala afdali halin tuhibbu an yakuna `alayha ahadun min awliya'ika wa ardaha laka
being in the most favorable and most pleased state that You would like to notice from
any of Your intimate servants.

‫ُث َّم ٱجْ َع ْل َها لِي َخيْراً م َِن َأ ْلفِ َشه ٍْر‬
thumm ij`alha li khayran min alfi shahrin
Then, decide it to be better for me that one thousand months,

‫ت َأ َحداً ِممَّنْ َبلَّ ْغ َت ُه ِإيَّا َها َوَأ ْك َرمْ َت ُه ِب َها‬ َ ‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي فِي َها َأ ْف‬
َ ‫ض َل َما َر َز ْق‬
warzuqni fiha afdala ma razaqta ahadan mimman ballaghtahu iyyaha wa akramtahu biha
confer upon me during this night the best conferrals that You ever confer upon any one
whom You guide to attain it and whom You honor during it,

َ ‫َوٱجْ َع ْلنِي فِي َها مِنْ ُع َت َقاِئ‬

‫ك مِنْ َج َه َّن َم‬
waj`alni fiha min `utaqa'ika min jahannama
include me at this night it with those whom You release from Hell

ُ ‫َو‬
ِ ‫ك م َِن ٱل َّن‬
‫ار‬ َ ‫طلَ َقاِئ‬
 wa tulaqa'ika min alnnari
whom You manumit from Hellfire

َ ‫ك َو ِرضْ َوا ِن‬

‫ك‬ َ ِ‫َو ُس َعدَا ِء َخ ْلق‬
َ ‫ك ِب َم ْغف َِر ِت‬
wa su`ada'i khalqika bimaghfiratika wa ridwanika
and with those of Your creatures who are happy due to Your forgiveness and
satisfaction (that reach them).

َ ‫َيا َأرْ َح َم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬
ya arhama alrrahimina
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

‫َوٱرْ ُز ْق َنا فِي َشه ِْر َنا ٰه َذا ٱل ِج َّد َوٱِإلجْ ِت َها َد‬
warzuqna fi shahrina hadha aljidda walijtihada
and grant us during this month hard working, exactness,

‫َوٱلقُوَّ َة َوٱل َّن َشا َط‬

walquwwata walnnashata
power, activeness,

َ ْ‫َو َما ُتحِبُّ َو َتر‬

‫ض ٰى‬
wa ma tuhibbu wa tarda
and whatever You like and please.

‫ال َع ْش ٍر َوٱل َّش ْف ِع َو ْٱل َو ْت ِر‬

ٍ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم َربَّ ٱل َفجْ ِر َولَ َي‬
allahumma rabba alfajri wa layalin `ashrin walshshaf`i walwatri
O Allah, the Lord of the Dawn, the Ten Nights, the Even and the Odd,

‫آن‬ َ ‫ان َو َما َأ ْن َز ْل‬

ِ ْ‫ت فِي ِه م َِن ْٱلقُر‬ َ ‫ض‬َ ‫َو َربَّ َشه ِْر َر َم‬
wa rabba shahri ramadana wa ma anzalta fihi min alqur'ani
the Lord of the month of Ramadan and the Qur'an that You have revealed during it,

‫َو َربَّ َجب َْراِئي َل َومِي َكاِئي َل َوِإسْ َرافِي َل َوعِ ْز َراِئي َل‬
wa rabba jabra'ila wa mika'ila wa israfila wa `izra'ila
the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel, Michael, Seraph, and `Izra’il, 

َ ‫ِيع ْٱل َمالَِئ َك ِة ْٱل ُم َقرَّ ِب‬

‫ين‬ ِ ‫َو َجم‬
wa jami`i almala'ikati almuqarrabina
as well as all the Favorite Angels,

‫َو َربَّ ِإب َْراهِي َم َوِإسْ مَاعِ ي َل‬

 wa rabba ibrahima wa isma`ila
the Lord of (Prophets) Abraham, Ishmael, 

َ ُ‫اق َو َيعْ ق‬
‫وب‬ َ ‫َوِإسْ َح‬
wa ishaqa wa ya`quba
Isaac, and Jacob,

‫يس ٰى‬
َ ِ‫َو َربَّ مُو َس ٰى َوع‬
wa rabba musa wa `isa
the Lord of Moses and Jesus,

َ ‫ِّين َو ْٱلمُرْ َسل‬

‫ِين‬ ‫ِيع ٱل َّن ِبي َـ‬
ِ ‫َو َجم‬
wa jami`i alnnabiyyina walmursalina
as well as all the Prophets and Messengers,

‫َو َربَّ م َُح َّم ٍد َخا َت ِم ٱل َّن ِبي َـ‬

‫ِّين‬
wa rabba muhammadin khatami alnnabiyyina
and the Lord of Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets,

َ ‫ك َعلَ ْي ِه َو َعلَي ِْه ْم َأجْ َمع‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫صلَ َوا ُت‬
َ
salawatuka `alayhi wa `alayhim ajma`ina
may Your blessings be upon him and upon them all.

َ ‫ك َعلَي ِْه ْم َو ِب َح ِّق ِه ْم َعلَ ْي‬

‫ك‬ َ ُ‫َوَأسْ َأل‬
َ ‫ك ِب َح ِّق‬
wa as'aluka bihaqqika `alayhim wa bihaqqihim `alayka
I beseech You in the name of their duty towards You Your duty towards them,

َ ‫ْت َعلَ ْي ِه َوآلِ ِه َو َعلَي ِْه ْم َأجْ َمع‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫ك ْٱل َعظِ ِيم لَمَّا‬
َ ‫صلَّي‬ َ ‫َو ِب َح ِّق‬
wa bihaqqika al`azimi lamma sallayta `alayhi wa alihi wa `alayhim ajma`ina
and in the name of the great duty towards You to bless him and his Household and all of
them,

‫ت ِإلَيَّ َن ْظ َر ًة َرحِي َم ًة‬

َ ْ‫َو َن َظر‬
wa nazarta ilayya nazratan rahimatan
to take a merciful look at me

ً‫ضىً الَ َس َخ َط َعلَيَّ َبعْ َدهُ َأ َبدا‬

َ ‫ض ٰى ِب َها َع ِّني ِر‬
َ ْ‫َتر‬
tarda biha `anni ridan la sakhata `alayya ba`dahu Abadan
due to which You be pleased with me so perfectly that You never be irate with me after
that,

‫ِيع سُْؤ لِي َو َر ْغ َبتِي َوُأ ْم ِن َيتِي َوِإ َرا َدتِي‬

َ ‫َوَأعْ َط ْي َتنِي َجم‬
wa a`taytani jami`a su'li wa raghbati wa umniyati wa iradati
to grant me all my requests, desires, hopes, and needs,
 ‫ت َع ِّني َما َأ ْك َرهُ َوَأحْ َذ ُر‬
َ ‫ص َر ْف‬
َ ‫َو‬
wa sarafta `anni ma akrahu wa ahdharu
to ward off all that which I despise and try to avoid

ُ‫َوَأ َخافُ َع َل ٰى َن ْفسِ ي َو َما الَ َأ َخاف‬

wa akhafu `ala nafsi wa ma la akhafu
and all that which I fear for myself and all that which I do not fear,

‫َو َعنْ َأهْ لِي َو َمالِي َوِإ ْخ َوانِي َو ُذرِّ َّيتِي‬

wa `an ahli wa mali wa ikhwani wa dhurriyyati
and to do the same to my family members, my property, my brethren and my offspring.

‫ين‬ ِ ‫آو َنا َت‬

َ ‫اِئب‬ ِ ‫ك َف َررْ َنا مِنْ ُذ ُن‬
ِ ‫وب َنا َف‬ َ ‫اللَّ ُه ُّم ِإلَ ْي‬
allahumma ilayka fararna min dhunubina fa'awina ta'ibina
O Allah, to You are we running from our sins; so (please do) shelter us as we are
repentant,

َ ‫َو ُتبْ َعلَ ْي َنا مُسْ َت ْغف ِِر‬

‫ين‬
wa tub `alayna mustaghfirina
accept our repentance as we are seeking Your forgiveness,

َ ‫ٱغفِرْ لَ َنا ُم َت َعوّ ذ‬

‫ِين‬ ْ ‫َو‬
waghfir lana muta`awwidhina
forgive us as we are seeking Your protection,

ْ ‫َأ‬
‫ين‬ ِ ‫َو عِ ذ َنا مُسْ َت ِج‬
َ ‫ير‬
wa a`idhna mustajirina
protect us as we are seeking Your aid,

َ ‫َوَأ ِجرْ َنا مُسْ َتسْ لِم‬

‫ِين‬
wa ajirna mustaslimina
aid us as we are surrendering to You,

َ ‫َوالَ َت ْخ ُذ ْل َنا َراه ِِب‬

‫ين‬
wa la takhdhulna rahibina
never disappoint us as we are fearful of You,

َ ‫َوآ ِم َّنا َراغِ ِب‬

‫ين‬
wa aminna raghibina
secure us as we are desiring for You,

َ ‫َو َش ِّفعْ َنا َساِئل‬

‫ِين‬
wa shaffi`na sa'ilina
accept our intercession as we are begging You,
 َ ‫َوَأعْ طِ َنا ِإ َّن‬
ِ ‫ك َسمِي ُع ٱل ُّد َعا ِء‬
ٌ‫قريبٌ ُم ِجيب‬
wa a`tina innaka sami`u alddu`a'i qribun mujibun
and grant us (what we hope) as You are verily the Hearer of prayers, the Nigh, and the
Responding. 

َ ‫ت َربِّي َوَأ َنا َع ْب ُد‬

‫ك‬ َ ‫اللَّ ُه َّم َأ ْن‬
allahumma anta rabbi wa ana `abduka
O Allah, You are my Lord and I am Your servant,

َ ‫َوَأ َح ُّق َمنْ َسَأ َل‬

‫ٱلع ْب ُد َر َّب ُه‬
wa ahaqqu man sa'ala al`abdu rabbahu
and it is conventional that a servant begs from his Lord.

َ َ‫َولَ ْم َيسْ َأ ِل ْٱل ِع َبا ُد م ِْثل‬

ً‫ك َك َرما ً َوجُودا‬
wa lam yas'ali al`ibadu mithlaka karaman wa judan
All Your servants have never begged any one who is as generous and magnanimous as
You are.

َ ‫َيا َم ْوضِ َع َش ْك َو ٰى ٱلسَّاِئل‬

‫ِين‬
ya mawdi`a shakwa alssa'ilina
O center of the complaints of the beseechers!

‫ين‬ َ ‫َو َيا ُم ْن َت َه ٰى َح‬

َ ‫اج ِة ٱلرَّ اغِ ِب‬
wa ya muntaha hajati alrraghibina
O ultimate goal of the needs of the desirers!

َ ‫اث ْٱلمُسْ َتغِيث‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫َو َيا غِ َي‬
wa ya ghiyatha almustaghithina
O Aide of the seekers of aid!

َ ‫يب دَعْ َو ِة ْٱلمُضْ َطر‬

‫ّين‬ َ ‫َو َيا ُم ِج‬
wa ya mujiba da`wati almudtarrina
O Responding to the prayers of the distressed ones!

‫َأ‬
‫ين‬ ِ ‫َو َيا َم ْل َج ْٱل َه‬
َ ‫ار ِب‬
wa ya malja'a alharibina
O Shelter of the fugitives!

َ ‫يخ ْٱلمُسْ َتصْ ِرخ‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫ص ِر‬
َ ‫َو َيا‬
wa ya sarikha almustasrikhina
O Helper of the seekers of help!

َ ‫َو َيا َربّ ْٱلمُسْ َتضْ َعف‬

‫ِين‬
wa ya rabba almustad`afina
O Cherisher of the enfeebled ones!
 ‫ين‬ ِ ‫ب ْٱل َم ْكر‬
َ ‫ُوب‬ ِ ْ‫ف َكر‬
َ ِ‫َو َيا َكاش‬
wa ya kashifa karbi almakrubina
O Reliever of the grievances of the aggrieved ones!

َ ‫ار َج َه ِّم ْٱل َم ْهمُوم‬

‫ِين‬ ِ ‫َو َيا َف‬
wa ya farija hammi almahmumina
O Releaser of the agonies of the distressed ones!

‫ب ْٱل َعظِ ِيم‬

ِ ْ‫ف ْٱل َكر‬
َ ِ‫َو َيا َكاش‬
wa ya kashifa alkarbi al`azimi
O Reliever of the enormous calamities!

‫َيا هَّللا ُ َيا َرحْ ٰمنُ َيا َرحِي ُم‬

ya allahu ya rahmanu ya rahimu
O Allah! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!

َ ‫َيا َأرْ َح َم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬
ya arhama alrrahimina
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح ّم ٍد َو‬

‫آل م َُح ّم ٍد‬ َ
salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
(Please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫ُوبي‬ ِ ‫ٱغفِرْ لِي ُذ ُن‬

ِ ‫وبي َو ُعي‬ ْ ‫َو‬
waghfir li dhunubi wa `uyubi
forgive my sins, my defects,

ُ ‫َوِإ َسا َءتِي َو‬

‫ظ ْلمِي َوجُرْ مِي‬
wa isa'ati wa zulmi wa jurmi
my offenses, my wrongdoing, my felonies,

‫َوِإسْ َرافِي َعلَ ٰى َن ْفسِ ي‬

wa israfi `ala nafsi
and my extravagance in my affairs,

َ ِ‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي مِنْ َفضْ ل‬

َ ‫ك َو َرحْ َم ِت‬
‫ك‬
warzuqni min fadlika wa rahmatika
grant me out of Your favors and mercy,

َ ‫َفِإ َّن ُه الَ َي ْملِ ُك َها َغ ْير‬

‫ُك‬
fa'innahu la yamlikuha ghayruka
for none possesses these two save You,

‫َوٱعْ فُ َع ِّني‬
 wa`fu `anni
pardon me,

ِ ‫ف مِنْ ُذ ُن‬
‫وبي‬ َ ‫ٱغفِرْ لِي ُك َّل َما َس َل‬
ْ ‫َو‬
waghfir li kulla ma salafa min dhunubi
forgive all my past sins,

‫َوٱعْ صِ مْ نِي فِي َما َبق َِي مِنْ ُع ْم ِري‬

wa`simni fima baqiya min `umri
save me from sinning in the rest of my lifetime,

َّ‫َوٱسْ ُترْ َعلَيَّ َو َعلَ ٰى َوالِ َدي‬

wastur `alayya wa `ala walidayya
cover me as well as my parents,

‫َو َولَدِي َو َق َرا َبتِي َوَأهْ ِل ح َُزا َنتِي‬

wa waladi wa qarabati wa ahli huzanati
my children, my relatives, my friends,

ِ ‫ِين َو ْٱلمُْؤ ِم َنا‬

‫ت فِي ٱل ُّد ْن َيا َوٱآلخ َِر ِة‬ َ ‫يل م َِن ْٱلمُْؤ ِمن‬
ٍ ‫ان ِم ِّني ِب َس ِب‬
َ ‫َو َمنْ َك‬
wa man kana minni bisabilin min almu'minina walmu'minati fi alddunya wal-akhirati
and all those who relate to me from the believing men and women in this worldly life and
the life to come.

َ ِ‫َفِإنَّ ٰذل‬
َ ‫ك ُكلَّ ُه ِب َي ِد‬
‫ك‬
fa'inna dhalika kullahu biyadika
Verily, all that is managed by You alone

َ ‫َوَأ ْن‬
‫ت َواسِ ُع ْٱل َم ْغف َِر ِة‬
wa anta wasi`u almaghfirati
and You are verily the Liberal in forgiving.

‫َفالَ ُت َخ ِّي ْبنِي َيا َس ِّيدِي‬

fala tukhayyibni ya sayyidi
So, my Master, do not disappoint me,

‫َوالَ َت ُر َّد ُد َعاِئي َوالَ َيدِي ِإلَ ٰى َنحْ ِري‬

wa la tarudda du`a'i wa la yadi ila nahri
do not reject my prayer, and do not let me down;

َ ‫ِيع َما َسَأ ْل ُت‬

‫ك‬ َ ِ‫َح َّت ٰى َت ْف َع َل ٰذل‬
َ ‫ك ِبي َو َتسْ َت ِج‬
َ ‫يب لِي َجم‬
hatta taf`ala dhalika bi wa tastajiba li jami`a ma sa'altuka
rather, (please) do all that to me, respond to me in all that which I have asked from You,

َ ِ‫َو َت ِزي َدنِي مِنْ َفضْ ل‬

‫ك‬
 wa tazidani min fadlika
and increase Your favor upon me,

‫ك َعلَ ٰى ُك ِّل َشيْ ٍء َقدِي ٌر‬

َ ‫َفِإ َّن‬
fa'innaka `ala kulli shay'in qadirun
because You verily have power over all things

‫ُون‬ َ ‫َو َنحْ نُ ِإلَ ْي‬

َ ‫ك َراغِ ب‬
wa nahnu ilayka raghibuna
and for You do we desire.

‫ك ٱَألسْ َما ُء ْٱلحُسْ َن ٰى‬

َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم َل‬
allahumma laka al-asma'u alhusna
O Allah, Yours are the Most Excellent Names,

‫َوٱَأل ْم َثا ُل ْٱلع ُْل َيا‬

wal-amthalu al`ulya
the Most Elevated Examples,

‫َو ْٱل ِكب ِْر َيا ُء َوٱآلالَ ُء‬

walkibriya'u wal-ala'u
every greatness, and all bounties.

َ ُ‫َأسْ َأل‬:
َ ‫ك ِبٱسْ ِم‬
‫ك‬
as'aluka bismika:
I thus beseech You by Your Name:

‫هَّلل‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم ٱ ِ ٱلرَّ حْ ٰم ِن ٱلرَّ ح‬
‫ِيم‬
bismi allahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

‫ْت فِي ٰه ِذ ِه ٱللَّ ْيلَ ِة‬ َ ‫ِإنْ ُك ْن‬

َ ‫ت َق‬
َ ‫ضي‬
in kunta qadayta fi hadhihi allaylati
If you have decided at this night,

ْ
ِ ُّ‫َت َن َّز َل ٱلمَالِئ َك ِة َوٱلر‬
‫وح فِي َها‬
tanazzala almala'ikati walrruhi fiha
during which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

َ ‫َأنْ ُت‬
ِ ‫صلِّ َي َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫َوَأنْ َتجْ َع َل ٱسْ مِي فِي ٱلس َُّعدَا ِء‬

wa an taj`ala (i)smi fi alssu`ada'i
 add my name to the (list of the) happy ones,

‫َورُوحِي َم َع ٱل ُّش َهدَا ِء‬

wa ruhi ma`a alshshuhada'i
add my soul to the martyrs,

َ ‫َوِإحْ َسانِي فِي عِ لِّي‬

‫ِّين‬
wa ihsani fi `illiyyina
elevate my good doings exaltedly,

َ ُ‫َوِإ َسا َءتِي َم ْغف‬

‫ور ًة‬
wa isa'ati maghfuratan
decide my ill deeds to be forgiven,

َ ‫َوَأنْ َت َه‬
‫ب لِي َيقِينا ً ُتبَاشِ ُر ِب ِه َق ْل ِبي‬
wa an tahaba li yaqinan tubashiru bihi qalbi
grant me conviction with which You fill in my heart,

‫ك‬ ُ ‫َوِإيـ َمانا ً الَ َي‬

ٌّ ‫شو ُب ُه َش‬
wa imanan la yashubuhu shakkun
faith free of doubt,

َ ‫ضىً ِب َما َق َس ْم‬

‫ت لِي‬ َ ‫َو ِر‬
wa ridan bima qasamta li
satisfaction with that which You decide for me,

‫َوآ ِتنِي فِي ٱل ُّد ْن َيا َح َس َن ًة َوفِي ٱآلخ َِر ِة َح َس َن ًة‬

wa atini fi alddunya hasanatan wa fi al-akhirati hasanatan
grant me good in this worldly life and good in the Next World,

َ ‫َوقِنِي َع َذ‬
ِ ‫اب ٱل َّن‬
‫ار‬
wa qini `adhaba alnnari
and save me from the Fire of Hell.

‫ْت فِي ٰه ِذ ِه ٱللَّ ْيلَ ِة‬ َ ‫َوِإنْ َل ْم َت ُكنْ َق‬

َ ‫ضي‬
wa in lam takun qadayta fi hadhihi allaylati
And if You have not decided at this night,

‫ َت َن َّز َل ْٱلمَالِئ َك ِة َوٱلرُّ ْو ِح فِي َها‬ 

tanazzala almala'ikati walrruhi fiha 
during which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

َ ِ‫ َفَأ ِّخرْ نِي ِإلَ ٰى ٰذل‬ 

‫ك‬
fa-akhkhirni ila dhalika
then (please) postpone Your decisions about me to that night,
 َ ‫ش ْك َر‬
‫ك‬ َ ‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي فِي َها ِذ ْك َر‬
ُ ‫ك َو‬
warzuqni fiha dhikraka wa shukraka
confer upon me during it with remembering You, showing gratitude to You,

َ ‫ك َوحُسْ َن عِ َبا َد ِت‬

‫ك‬ َ ‫َو َط‬
َ ‫اع َت‬
wa ta`ataka wa husna `ibadatika
doing acts of obedience to You, and worshipping You in the best manner.

ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬

‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ َ ‫َو‬
wa salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
And (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

َ ‫ك َيا َأرْ َح َم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫صلَ َوا ِت‬ َ ‫ِبَأ ْف‬
َ ‫ض ِل‬
bi-afdali salawatika ya arhama alrrahimina
with Your most favorable blessings, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

َ ‫َيا َأ َح ُد َيا‬
‫ص َم ُد‬
ya ahadu ya samadu
O One and Only! the Besought of all!

‫َيا َربَّ م َُح َّم ٍد‬

ya rabba muhammadin
O Lord of Muhammad! 

‫ار عِ ْت َر ِت ِه‬ ‫َأل‬ َ ‫ِإ ْغ‬

ِ ‫ب ٱل َي ْو َم لِم َُح َّم ٍد َو ب َْر‬
ِ ‫ض‬
ighdab alyawma limuhammadin wa li'abrari `itratihi
(please) revenge on this day for Muhammad and for the pious ones from his offspring,

ً‫َوٱ ْق ُت ْل َأعْ دَا َء ُه ْم َبدَدا‬

waqtul a`da'ahum badadan
eradicate all of their enemies,

ً‫َوَأحْ صِ ِه ْم َعدَدا‬
wa ahsihim `adadan
put them all under Your reprimand,

ِ ْ‫َوالَ َتدَعْ َعلَ ٰى َظه ِْر ٱَألر‬

ً‫ض ِم ْن ُه ْم َأ َحدا‬
wa la tada` `ala zahri al-ardi minhum ahadan
do not leave anyone of them to live on this earth,

ً‫َوالَ َت ْغفِرْ لَ ُه ْم َأ َبدا‬

wa la taghfir lahum abadan
and never forgive them.

‫َيا َح َس َن ٱلصُّحْ َب ِة‬

 ya hasana alssuhbati
O most excellent Companion!

‫َيا َخلِي َف َة ٱل َّن ِبي َـ‬

‫ِّين‬
ya khalifata alnnabiyyina
O Heir of the Prophets!

َ ‫ت َأرْ َح ُم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫َأ ْن‬
anta arhamu alrrahimina
You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy,

‫ْٱل َبدِي ُء ْٱل َبدِي ُع‬

albadi'u albadi`u
the Commencer, the brilliant Maker,

َ ِ‫ْس َكم ِْثل‬

‫ك َشيْ ٌء‬ َ ‫ٱلَّذِي لَي‬
alladhi laysa kamithlika shay'un
there is none like You,

‫َوٱل َّداِئ ُم َغ ْي ُر ْٱل َغاف ِِل‬

waldda'imu ghayru alghafili
You are the Eternal Who never omits anything,

ُ ‫َو ْٱل َحيُّ ٱلَّذِي الَ َيم‬

‫ُوت‬
walhayyu alladhi la yamutu
are the Ever-living Who never dies,

‫ت ُك َّل َي ْو ٍم فِي َشْأ ٍن‬

َ ‫َأ ْن‬
anta kulla yawmin fi sha'nin
on each day, You have a certain state.

َ ‫َأ ْن‬
‫ت َخلِي َف ُة م َُح َّم ٍد‬
anta khalifatu muhammadin
You are the Heir of Muhammad,

‫َو َناصِ ُر مُح َّم ٍد‬

wa nasiru muhmmdin
the Supporter of Muhammad,

ِّ ‫َو ُم َف‬
‫ض ُل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
wa mufaddilu muhammadin
and the Selector of Muhammad.

‫ك َأنْ َت ْنص َُر َوصِ يَّ م َُح َّم ٍد َو َخلِي َف َة م َُح َّم ٍد‬
َ ُ‫َأسْ َأل‬
as'aluka an tansura wasiyi muhammadin wa khalifata muhammadin
I beseech You to give victory to the successor and representative of Muhammad,

‫َوٱل َقاِئ َم ِب ْٱلقِسْ طِ مِنْ َأ ْوصِ َيا ِء م َُح َّم ٍد‬

walqa'ima bilqisti min awsiya'i muhammadin 
the Imam who shall appear with justice among the successors of Muhammad,

َ ‫صلَ َوا ُت‬

‫ك َعلَ ْي ِه َو َعلَي ِْه ْم‬ َ
salawatuka `alayhi wa `alayhim
may Your blessings be upon him and upon them.

‫ك‬َ ‫ف َعلَي ِْه ْم َنصْ َر‬

ْ ِ‫ِإعْ ط‬
i`tif `alayhim nasraka
(Please) turn Your victory toward them.

َ ‫َيا الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ َأ ْن‬

‫ت‬
ya la ilaha illa anta
O He but Whom there is no god!

َ ‫ِب َح ِّق الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ َأ ْن‬

‫ت‬
bihaqqi la ilaha illa anta
I beseech You in the name of that there is no god but You,

ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬

‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ َ
salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
(please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫َوٱجْ َع ْلنِي َم َع ُه ْم فِي ٱل ُّد ْن َيا َوٱآلخ َِر ِة‬

waj`alni ma`ahum fi alddunya wal-akhirati
allow me to join them in this worldly life as well as the Next World

َ ‫َوٱجْ َع ْل َعاقِ َب َة َأ ْم ِري ِإلَ ٰى ُغ ْف َرا ِن‬

َ ‫ك َو َرحْ َم ِت‬
‫ك‬
waj`al `aqibata amri ila ghufranika wa rahmatika
and allow all my affairs to end up with Your forgiveness and mercy.

َ ‫َيا َأرْ َح َم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬
ya arhama alrrahimina
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

ِ‫ك َيا َس ِّيدِي ِبٱللُّ ْطف‬

َ ‫ْت َن ْف َس‬ َ ِ‫َو َك ٰذل‬
َ ‫ك َن َسب‬
wa kadhalika nasabta nafsaka ya sayyidi billutfi
O my Master, You have ascribed the feature of kindness to Yourself.

ٌ‫ك لَطِ يف‬

َ ‫َبلَ ٰى ِإ َّن‬
bala innaka latifun
Yes, indeed! You are truly kind.
 ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ َ ‫َف‬
fasalli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
So, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

‫ف ِبي لِ َما َت َشا ُء‬ ُ ‫َو‬

ْ ‫ٱلط‬
waltuf bi lima tasha'u
and treat me kindly as You like.

َ ‫اللَّ ُه َّم‬
ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي ْٱل َح َّج َو ْٱلعُمْ َر َة فِي َعا ِم َنا ٰه َذا‬

warzuqni alhajja wal`umrata fi `amina hadha
grant me (the opportunity to go on) Hajj and `Umrah in this year,

‫ِيع َح َواِئ ِجي لِآلخ َِر ِة َوٱل ُّد ْن َيا‬ َ

ِ ‫َو َتطوَّ ْل َع َليَّ ِب َجم‬
wa tatawwal `alayya bijami`i hawa'iji lil-akhirati walddunya
confer upon me with the favor of settling all my needs for the Next World and this
worldly life.

You may then repeat the following statements three times:

‫َأسْ َت ْغفِ ُر ٱهَّلل َ َربِّي َوَأ ُتوبُ ِإلَ ْي ِه‬
astaghfiru allaha rabbi wa atubu ilayhi
I implore for the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him.

ٌ‫ِإنَّ َربِّي َق ِريبٌ ُم ِجيب‬

inna rabbi qaribun mujibun
Surely, my Lord is Nigh and Responding.

‫َأسْ َت ْغ ِف ُر ٱهَّلل َ َربِّي َوَأ ُتوبُ ِإلَ ْي ِه‬

astaghfiru allaha rabbi wa atubu ilayhi
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

‫ِإنَّ َربِّي َرحِي ٌم َو ُدو ٌد‬

inna rabbi rahimun wadudun
Surely, my Lord is Merciful, Loving.

‫َأسْ َت ْغفِ ُر ٱهَّلل َ َربِّي َوَأ ُتوبُ ِإلَ ْي ِه‬

astaghfiru allaha rabbi wa atubu ilayhi
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness, my Lord, and I repent before Him.

ً‫ان َغ َّفارا‬
َ ‫ِإ َّن ُه َك‬
 innahu kana ghaffaran
He is surely All-forgiving.

ْ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم‬
‫ٱغفِرْ لِي‬
allahumma ighfir li
O Allah, (please do) forgive me.

َ ‫ك َأرْ َح ُم ٱلرَّ ا ِحم‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫ِإ َّن‬
innaka arhamu alrrahimina
You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

ُ ‫َربِّ ِإ ِّني َعم ِْل‬

ُ ‫ت سُوءاً َو َظلَ ْم‬
‫ت َن ْفسِ ي‬
rabbi inni `amiltu su'an wa zalamtu nafsi
O my Lord, I have committed ill deeds and wronged myself.

َ ‫وب ِإالَّ َأ ْن‬

‫ت‬ ُّ ‫ٱغفِرْ لِي ِإ َّن ُه الَ َي ْغفِ ُر‬
َ ‫ٱلذ ُن‬ ْ ‫َف‬
faghfir li innahu la yaghfiru aldhdhunuba illa anta
So (please) forgive me, because none can forgive sins save You.

‫َأسْ َت ْغفِ ُر ٱهَّلل َ ٱلَّذِي الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو‬

astaghfiru allaha alladhi la ilaha illa huwa
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness save Whom there is no god,

‫ْٱل َحيُّ ٱل َقيُّو ُم ْٱل َحلِي ُم ْٱل َعظِ ي ُم‬

alhayyu alqayyumu alhalimu al`azimu
the Ever-living, the Self-Subsistent, the Indulgent, the All-great,

ِ ‫ْٱل َك ِري ُم ْٱل َغ َّفا ُر ل َِّلذ ْن‬

‫ب ْٱل َعظِ ِيم‬
alkarimu alghaffaru lildhdhanbi al`azimi
the Noble, the forgiver of fatal sins,

‫َوَأ ُتوبُ ِإلَ ْي ِه‬

wa atubu ilayhi
and I repent before Him.

َ ‫َأسْ َت ْغفِ ُر ٱهَّلل‬

astaghfiru allaha
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness.

َ ‫ِإنَّ ٱهَّلل َ َك‬

ً ‫ان َغفُوراً َرحِيما‬
inna allaha kana ghafuran rahiman
Allah is verily Forgiver, Merciful.
 You may then keep on, saying:

َ ‫ك َأنْ ُت‬
ِ ‫صلِّ َي َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد‬ َ ُ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّني َأسْ َأل‬
allahumma inni as'aluka an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of
Muhammad,

‫َوَأنْ َتجْ َع َل فِي َما َت ْقضِ ي َو ُت َق ِّد ُر‬

wa an taj`ala fima taqdi wa tuqaddiru
to decide within the decisions that You make,

‫وم فِي لَ ْيلَ ِة ْٱل َق ْد ِر‬ ْ ْ ‫َأل‬

ِ ‫م َِن ٱ ْم ِر ٱل َعظِ ِيم ٱل َمحْ ُت‬
min al-amri al`azimi almahtumi fi laylati alqadri
from the great, inevitable affair at the Destiny Night,

َ ‫م َِن ْٱل َق‬

‫ضا ِء ٱلَّذِي الَ ي َُر ُّد َوالَ ُي َب َّد ُل‬
min alqada'i alladhi la yuraddu wa la yubaddalu
within the decision that is neither rejected nor altered,

‫ِك ْٱل َح َر ِام‬ ‫َأ‬

ِ َّ‫نْ َت ْك ُت َبنِي مِنْ حُج‬
َ ‫اج َب ْيت‬
an taktubani min hujjaji baytika alharami
to write my name with the pilgrims of Your Holy House,

ِ ‫ْٱل َم ْبر‬
‫ُور َحجُّ ُه ْم‬
almabruri hajjuhum
whose Hajj is admitted,

ِ ‫ْٱل َم ْش ُك‬
‫ور َسعْ ُي ُه ْم‬
almashkuri sa`yuhum
whose efforts are praiseworthy,

‫ور ُذ ُنو ُب ُه ْم‬

ِ ُ‫ْٱل َم ْغف‬
almaghfuri dhunubuhum
whose sins are forgiven,

‫ْٱل ُم َك َّف ِر َع ْن ُه ْم َس ِّيَئ ا ُت ُه ْم‬

almukaffari `anhum sayyi'atuhum
and whose offenses are pardoned,

‫َوَأنْ َتجْ َع َل فِي َما َت ْقضِ ي َو ُت َق ِّد ُر َأنْ ُتطِ ي َل عُمْ ِري‬
wa an taj`ala fima taqdi wa tuqaddiru an tutila `umri
to decide among the decisions that You make to grant me long lifetime,

‫َو ُت َوس َِّع ِر ْزقِي‬

 wa tuwassi`a rizqi
expand my sustenance,

‫ي َع ِّني َأ َما َنتِي َو َد ْينِي‬

َ ‫َو ُتَؤ ِّد‬
wa tu'addiya `anni amanati wa dayni
help me fulfill my trusts and settle my debts,

َ ‫ِين َربَّ ٱل َعالَم‬

‫ِين‬ َ ‫آم‬
amina rabba al`alamina
and respond to me, O Lord of the worlds.

ً ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم ٱجْ َع ْل لِي مِنْ َأمْ ِري َف َرجا ً َو َم ْخ َرجا‬

allahumma ij`al li min amri farajan wa makhrajan
O Allah, (please do) make for me relief and an outlet,

ُ‫ْث الَ َأحْ َتسِ ب‬

ُ ‫ْث َأحْ َتسِ بُ َومِنْ َحي‬
ُ ‫َوٱرْ ُز ْقنِي مِنْ َحي‬
warzuqni min haythu ahtasibu wa min haythu la ahtasibu
provide for me from whence I expect and from whence I do not expect,

ُ‫ْث الَ َأحْ َت ِرس‬

ُ ‫ْث َأحْ َت ِرسُ َومِنْ َحي‬
ُ ‫َوٱحْ رُسْ نِي مِنْ َحي‬
wahrusni min haythu ahtarisu wa min haythu la ahtarisu
guard me from when I take precautions and from whence I do not take precautions,

ً‫آل م َُح َّم ٍد َو َسلِّ ْم َكثِيرا‬

ِ ‫ص ِّل َعلَ ٰى م َُح َّم ٍد َو‬
َ ‫َو‬
wa salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa sallim kathiran
and send plentiful blessings and benedictions to Muhammad and the Household of
Muhammad.
