The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen.
Katniss lives is a dystopian society that is separated in multiple districts. Each year the
Capital district, which is the wealthiest, control all the other districts and hold an event,
this event is brutal and the people that enter it die. This event is basically a contest, two
people from each district are selected, male and female and are set to compete against
the other districts. The purpose of this event is to enforce the Capitals power, giving
some of their wealth to the winners district. Katniss, her sister and her mother happen to
live in one of the poorest districts. Katniss sister has turned twelve and is now eligible to
be picked, since she is weak and has no real survival skills, Katniss fears her sisters
fate. Later we find out that she is picked, but Katniss quickly volunteers to take her
place. Soon after we see all the challenges Katniss must encounter to win and survive
for her district.



I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense and dystopian society
books. This book might make you cry and it contains a passionate, heartfelt text, it is
well- written. Although the movie was amazing, the book, in my opinion is even better.
