Birthday Books
A note by Mrs. Johnson, Learning Center Director

The Birthday Book Program, which has provided the library with over 115
books this year, wraps up next week. This program allows parents to send in
a donation in honor of their child's birthday so that their child can choose a
book to put into library circulation. The month before your child's birthday,
a letter was sent home explaining this program and providing the donation
form. June and July birthday forms were sent home at the end of April.
(August birthdays will be sent home at the beginning of the next school
year.) In order to make sure we have enough books purchased and to insure
that students can check out their birthday book, all forms must be turned in
by Friday May 16th. After this date the library will not longer be circulating
books in order to prepare for summer break. Please get those forms in as
soon as possible and thanks to all of you who donated for supporting our
library!

Dress Rehearsal 5/5 Spring Sing at HMS 5/7

Notes from Mrs. Griffin, Music Teacher

This has been an exciting time in music at Copeland Manor School! Our
first graders are learning how to sing the pitches Mi, So, and La. Ask your
first grader how to play So-La-Mi! In second grade, we are spending time
learning about Do, Re, and Mi. In 3rd grade, we are having a great time
experimenting with boomwhackers and the Orff instruments. In 4th and
5th grade, we have been working SO hard to prepare for our Spring
Sing!

In the band department at Copeland Manor, our 4th and 5th grade
students are busy getting ready for their spring concerts! The beginners
will perform at Highland Middle School at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 13th
along with the 7th grade students, and the intermediate students will
perform at Highland Middle School at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 21st
along with the 8th grade students! We would love to see you there to
support our band students, as they have worked so hard on their
instruments!
