Cougars of the Year
Fifth Graders You Should Know

The Cougar of the Year is a distinct honor awarded to a boy and a girl from each of
the 5
th
grade classes. The students who are selected consistently demonstrate the
pillars of Character Counts. They show kind actions towards others, demonstrate
respect, and consistently abide by school rules and expectations. They act
responsibly in the classroom, as well as, on the playground. These students
consistently take responsibility for their learning by working diligently and
completing assignments. These students exemplify what it means to be a
Copeland Cougar!

Congratulations to the 2014 Cougars of the Year:

From Mrs. Stermitzs class: Annalese and Max
From Mrs. Julians class: Bronson and Ashely
From Mrs. Lewis class: Landon and Larisa

has been created just in case. All students will be served hot dogs

Celebrating a Year of Positive Character

On Friday, May 23
rd
, students enjoyed a positive behavior celebration
recognizing their demonstration of the Six Character Counts Pillars:
trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness, and citizenship.
Students enjoyed must from 5
th
grade band students, took part in an all-
school Jeopardy game, talked about recess memories with buddies,
cheered on staff members during a friendly knockout game, and placed
pinwheels in the front lawn. Way to go, Cougars! We are proud of the
great choices you make it is important to us that we have a school that
is respectful, kind and caring.
