IP for
Standard Cutout
CAUTION: Let the person responsible for the POS
system know what will be done BEFORE you
install the ScanMax IP system.
This guide explains how to install a co-location
assembly (Integrated Pad antenna and bar code
scanner) in a checkout counter. Parts used for the
installation:
ZBSM-IN-2 (Integrated Pad antenna, power
pack, remote alarm, and trim ring)
ZBSTPIP (Integrated Pad antenna only)
ZBIN-B1 (trim ring only)
Note: In some cases a hole will be pre-cut
adjacent to the scanner for the antenna. For these
cases, simply drop the antenna into its slot. In
other cases, the hole will have to be extended (see
procedure below). The installation method
determines the product code used.
Procedure to Extend the Cutout
Note: If the scanner is in place, remove it and its
trim ring from the checkstand. Nails may hold the
trim ring in place. You may need to remove debris
to expose and remove the nails.
Note: Disconnect power and data cables from the
scanner. Protect these cables from damage during
the installation process.
1. Mark the area for the cutout using the trim ring.
Cut the counter along the marking. The cutout
for the trim ring is 39.4cm (15) x 51.4cm
(20).
2. Place the trim ring into the opening.
3. Rest the antenna on the flange of the trim ring
and slide it until it is up against the side of the
trim ring.
4. Reinstall the bar code scanner into the
opening.
5. Plug the deactivator into its power pack
(mounted below the unit), then test and tune
the deactivator.
Note: Because the IP antenna has the same
characteristics as the SlimPad antenna, use
SlimPad settings to tune this antenna.
