1. Any time you paraphrase, summarize, or quote someone elses thoughts citations must be placed
in text after that thought (Emery 2014). Just like this
2. NEVER COPY AND PAST INTO A RESEARCH PAPER! EVEN FULL QUOTES SHOULD NOT
BE COPY AND PASTED WORD FOR WORD!
3. Work cited should be in APA or MLA format and should look like the following. It should
NEVER JUST BE A WEBSITE URL.
APA: Contributors' names (Last edited date). Title of resource. Retrieved from
http://Webaddress for OWL resource
MLA: Contributors' names. "Title of Resource." The Purdue OWL. Purdue U Writing Lab, Last
edited date. Web. Date of access.
4. Wikipedia, Google, and Yahoo are NOT WORKCITED SOURCES. YOU MUST WRITE THE
DIRECT URL LINK FOR THE SOURCE OF INFORMATION.
5. There should be citations in the text when you have a work cited page there should NOT
BE A WORKCITED PAGE AND THEN NO CITATIONS IN THE TEXT THAT IS PLAGERISM.
6. Names of books, movies, comics, etc. should be Capitalized and with in parentheses or
italicized every time they are stated in the text.
