POSTER
A poster is a very useful means of making an announcement or appeal, issuing a notice,
advertising a product or bringing about awareness on any issue of public interest.
A poster is always visually attractive and easily readable from a certain distance. It is usually
put up on notice or bulletin boards and walls.
Posters are extensively used by political parties, religious organizations, artists, event
organizers, film makers, ad agencies, NGs, government departments like Public !elations
"epartment, #ealt$ and %amily "epartments, &ducation "epartment, &nvironment
Protection and 'onservation agencies and groups, etc., for t$eir awareness campaigns.
&ssentially a very brief communication wit$ a powerful visual and a powerful message, a
poster is always prepared wit$ a particular target audience in mind. It very clearly mentions
t$e t$eme or t$e topic, t$e sc$edule of an event (if it is about an event) and t$e occasion for it.
It is usually an appeal for awareness or support, $elp or action* a warning or a caution. +any
times a poster takes t$e form of an invitation, for example posters for carnivals, fetes, fas$ion
s$ows, concerts, sales, ex$ibitions, cultural programmes, etc.
