There are many ideas about how to rear
children. Some parents adopt the ideas their
own parents used. Others get advice from
friends. Some read books about parenting.
Others take classes offered in the
community. No one has all the answers.
However, psychologists and other social
scientists now know what parenting practices
are most effective and are more likely to
lead to positive outcomes for children.
Question .
Are we good parents?
Yes or no

1. Parents must be healthy, physically and
psychologically.
Example: The parent's responsibility to raise
their children using healthy parenting skills.

2. Unconditional love.
Example: Praising a toddler for making
scribbles on a piece of paper.
(Good job, nice, wonderfull.. )
3. Bonding with them.
Playing with your children is bonding with
them, which parents and children need.
Example : playing hide and seek.

4. Rules, limits and boundaries.
Example : learn how to treat other's with
respect.
5. Learning positive discipline
Talk about the behaviour that you don't like.
Example : set bed time.

6. Never talk negatively about children to
other's in front of them.
Example : One of your friends turns to the
other one and begins to talk negatively about
you, as if you were not there.
7. Pick and choose your battles.
example : For instance, it is normal for
children to make noises. When children make
noises it is a sign that everything is okay.

8. Be consistent and persistent.
Example : consistently follow a schedule and
certain rules, they know what to expect
next.
Children are like a white clothe, pure and
clean. We as a parents are responsible to
colour them. If we put black colour then they
will become black and if we want it blue,
they will become blue.

Choose wisely.
