- Effects of forces - Forces move objects, stop objects, slow objects down and cause
chemical reactions
- Action at a distance - Where the interacting forces happen from a distance, e.g
gravity
- Unbalanced Forces - Unbalanced forces are when one force which is exerted on an
object is stronger than the other force exerted on the object.
- Reaction Force - When one force acts on an object but is affected by another force
- Friction - A force which acts against a moving object. Friction changes depending on
the speed of the object and the surface it is travelling along.

Q2) %he resultant force on Alex gives her momentum in a bac&wards direction.
Q3b)%he partner force was friction, or air resistance, from the air which would have
slowed the velocity of 'the ball.
Q4a)%he burning of the roc&et fuel creates a force which counter-acts gravity, pushing
the roc&et upwards.

- $peed is how fast the object is moving, whereas velocity is the rate an object changes
it*s position

- Forces chan(e otion by reducing or increasing the momentum of the object
- 3n crashes, the crumple 4one, airbags and other safety features increase the
time it ta&es for the momentum to drop, and as a result, the amount of force is
reduced.
