Multisemiotic analysis – theoretical developments and

The presentation discusses some recent theoretical developments within
Hallidayan systemic-functional linguistics (SFL) and the expansion of the SFL theory from traditional linguistic and discourse issues to consideration of the meaning-making semiotics as a combination and negotiation between different modal realisations.
Eija Ventola is Professor of English Philology in Department of English at the
University of Helsinki. She has published widely in social semiotics, systemic functional linguistics, discourse analysis, text linguistics, multimodality and translation studies. She has worked to develop new research methods and practical applications in applied linguistics, discourse analysis and multimodal analysis.
