On 14 March 2014, SMK Bukit Jalil had organized a cross country activity at Bukit

Jalil Park. This event was opened for all the students and teachers to participate in it.
The slogan of this activity was Run for Health .

This event started from 7.30 a.m. until 12.30 a.m. There were around 600 people
took part in this event. The amount of people was only about 65% of the total amount
of students. Due to the bad weather on that day, some of the students chose not to
participate in the event.

Before we start our cross country, the teachers requested all the students to do
warm-up. We all did the warm-up by moving our body following the melody of a loud
music. After that, the main point of the activity finally began.

First and foremost, the first group of students to run was the boys who were under
fifteen years old. Then following by boys who were under eighteen years old, girls
who were under fifteen and finally girls who were under eighteen.

Throughout the journey, we saw some small animals were playing happily in the
woods such as squirrels. We also saw a big and beautiful lake. There were a total of
five checkpoints. We had to take the cards given by the teacher on duty at all those
checkpoints to prove that we did not cheat.

Most of us forced our legs to run fast, overtaking some slow students, ignoring
their jeers and cheers. Weeks before the event, we practiced running every Monday
and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Our aim was to get the champion place of the
activity to prove that our hard works were not wasted even though we all knew it was
not easy to achieve it.

It was close to 10.30 a.m. and most of the students had reached the final goal.
Luckily, where were no casualties as those who could not run took their own sweet
time to walk to the goal. Most of us rushed to the water cooler to quench our thirst.
Unfortunately, due to the heavy haze, teachers announced that our school will only
hold the prize giving ceremony on next week. Thus, we were allowed to go back home
earlier than usual.
