Peak pressures
Engine type This bulletin concerns WRTSIL

Vasa 32, 32GD, 32LN and 32LNGD


engines.
General The level of mechanical stress put on the engine components is directly
related to the peak pressure (firing pressure) of the engine.
Note! Too high peak pressure will increase the risk of engine failure and human
injury.
Factors with an influence on peak pressures are e.g.
Injection timing
Compression ratio
Charge air pressure
Ambient temperature
Fuel quality
The table below shows the maximum allowed continuous peak pressure
depending on which type of connecting rod the engine is fitted with.
Note! Engines with lower rating have lower maximum allowed peak pressures
than listed below.
