1.SCOPE                                                               
This standard covers the issue regulations and the operating procedure when HES documents
on
products (hereinafter referred to as HES) are issued.
2 . ISSUING STANDARDS
2.1 Issuing Conditions
Suppliers, who have direct dealings with Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Honda R&D, Honda
Engineering and affiliated companies, should be granted the use of HES which is
essential and indispensable to manufacture or produce Honda products.
3 . AGREEMENT WITH SUPPLIERS ON ISSUE OF HES
3.1 Management of HES
HES should be managed by supplier in accordance with the "Master contract for supply of
parts" that has been signed with Honda.

3.4 Reproduction of HES

HES, which became unnecessary for the supplier, should be returned as soon as possible.
If Honda requests to return the HES, supplier shall return it irrespective of the reason.
6 Redelivery of HES
If a supplier has ruined their HES and requests a replacement, Honda will redeliver the
appropriate HES in mint condition. The ruined HES should be confidentially disposed of by the
supplier responsible.
ASSIGNMENT OF HES SECTION
3 Connection on works
Delivery of HES and receipt of it should be done between the General HES Office and
Supplier‘s HES Section as a rule.
PPENDIX]
SCOPE
This appendix provides HES issuing standard and the assignment procedure for supplier who
has not formally signed the master contract (hereinafter referred to as not-yet-contracted supplier)
for supply of parts, agreement on quality assurance at supplier, or agreement on supplier drawings
and specifications, etc.
ISSUING STANDARDS
HES should be distributed to not-yet-contracted suppliers with an expiration date in accordance
with the following conditions.
1 Technical Assistance
The case of needing appropriate HES due to technical assistance to be given to not-yet contract supplier.
2 Early Time of Local Supply Investigation
The case of investigating parts for local supply and requesting quote of parts.
ESTABLISHMENT OF HES SECTION     
1 Honda HES Section
The person in charge in Honda shall check the contents of the "HES Issue Request for
Consideration“which is submitted by the supplier's responsible person, and shall report to the
responsible person in the section in HONDA and get an approval.
6. RESPONSIBILITY OF COLLECTING AND RETURNING HES
6.1 Supplier's Responsible Person
Upon the passing due date, supplier's responsible person should return all distributed HES
documents to Honda's person in charge.
6.2 Honda's Person in Charge
Upon the passing due date, Honda's person in charge should collect all distributed HES
documents and return them to the General HES Office.

This standard specifies the basic items necessary to issue the CAD Standard Library (herein after
referred to as "Library") to suppliers such as issue criteria, operating procedures.

2. TERMINOLOGY
Followings are explanation of terminology which are used in this HES.
2.1 CAD (Computer Aided Design)
A tool for designing on computers. In this standard, this term refers to CATIA.

2.2 Library
Library includes symbolized drawing elements (drawing frame, title block, component parts column,
welding symbols, finishing symbols etc.) used as standard elements which are specified in the
standards such as HES, project file to conform to application environment and start up model suitable
to initialize drawings.

When suppliers who directly deal with subsidiaries of Honda (hereinafter referred to as "Honda")
exchange CAD drawings with Honda, the Library shall be issued.

1. SCOPE
This standard specifies supplier Honda product drawings in development and mass production stages.
2. DEFINITION OF SUPPLIER DRAWINGS
Supplier part drawings, hereinafter referred to as "supplier drawings", are the drawings which supplier
prepare and Honda receives and uses as Honda product drawings. In preparing the drawings, suppliers
shall design parts at Honda's request in accordance with the establishment conditions of supplier
drawings as described in clause 3.Supplier drawings are also called "Supplier's drawings" as drawing
numbers specify suppliers.
3. ESTABLISHMENT CONDITIONS OF SUPPLIER DRAWINGS
In establishing supplier drawings, the following requirements shall be satisfied.
A) Suppliers shall operate in accordance with the Supplier Layout established by the material purchase
department of Honda. This means that it is determined that orders are placed to specific suppliers.
B) Any of the following situations shall apply.
1) When it is technically impossible for Honda to prepare design drawings, and drawings need to be
prepared by expert suppliers.
2) When the parts manufactured by a supplier have specialized know-how in design, patent, manufacturing
technique, etc., and Honda needs to purchase the know-how.
  3) When orders are given to two or more suppliers, and the Honda drawing is unable to cope with
design revision requests by those supp.
