Standard 10: Leadership and Collaboration

The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility
for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school
professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the
profession.

Within my Foundations of
Education class I participated in
an online collaboration with
fellow classmates. This
assignment helped me develop
strategies to handle classroom
scenarios effectively. I received
and provided constructive
criticism that built upon ideas of
my peers. We used critical
thinking strategies to discuss
important ways to teach and
conduct our classrooms.
Reflection: The discussion boards were are a great
opportunity for me to interact with my classmates and
discuss different opinions. I appreciated everyones
different approach to problem solving and I plan on
implementing some of the ideas I learned into my
classroom.

Standard 9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice
The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually
evaluate her practice, particularly the effects of her choices and actions on others
(learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to
meet the needs of each learner

During Foundations of
Education I completed an
educational philosophy. My
educational philosophy was a
description of goals that will
be met within my classroom
and expectations that I will
have for my students. I went
into detail about techniques I
will implement and strategies
that students will use in order
to succeed. I developed ways
to accommodate all of my
students and ways that I will
measure progress. I also
discussed how these
techniques will make my
students successful learners.


Reflection: The educational philosophy assignment put my ideas into
perspective and made me think critically about effective ways to teach. I
a m excited to create a safe and effective learning environment that will
let me utilize all of the techniques within my philosophy to reach the
educational goals for success.
