Having to find the authors intention to analyse every poem would be not to follow a
standard critical analysis. Their intention should come up in the poem itself and if it
doesnt then they did not succeed in their intention when writing it, and we will have to
go to outside things such as their biography etc to actually get their intention.
A poem should not mean, or suggest but be. And it can only be through its meaning
since its made of words. The poem should speak for itself.
Literary criticism should be an objective aproach in which things outside of the poem
should not complete its meaning.
