Staff/Personnel

Each member of the team have been selected for their level of expertise in their respective fields
and their commitment to the overarching vision of accessible higher education through
innovative ideas and technologies. Their dedication provides the foundation of what we hope to
accomplish. Partnerships have been forged between academic and professional institutions with
each individual bringing specialized knowledge and expertise that builds a solid foundation for
future success of providing higher educational content via kiosks to communities that have
previously been underserved.


Rusty Shackleford
IT Support

Mr. Shackleford is an IT Specialist at the University of Kansas. He has
worked in Information Technology for over 8 years, having previously
worked in the private sector. He will provide IT support and will maintain
content through remote desktop access and cloud technology. He actively seeks to
collaborate with innovative projects that follow the vision of KU in supporting academic
excellence. Mr. Shackleford oversees each component of IT support for the project with
each team member reporting to him. He will be the on-call service provider.


Byron Bojengles III
Programmer

Mr. Bojengles received his Master of Information Technology from
the University of Kansas, Edwards Campus. Having started as an
intern at Hooli, he had the opportunity to work alongside many
influential individuals who developed project SKYNET. He will
help with programming and interfacing of the first kiosk, then subsequent kiosks.


Michael Bolton
Kiosk Maintainer Intern

Michael is currently a student at the University of Kansas, Edwards
Campus with a dual major in Information Technology and Computer
Science. He will travel and provide vital and critical kiosk care.

Nikki Potnik
Video Editing Intern

Nikki is currently a student at the University of Kansas majoring in
film production. She was previously a videographer and editor with
KU Media Productions. She is also a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy. She
brings a dedication to military service personnel. Nikki will be collaborating with instructors and
helping with all technical and audio/visual components.


Shakiraquan Carter
UI Designer

Mr. Carter has more than 15 years experience in user interface design and
has an interest in information architecture and functionality. He graduated
with a BFA from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. He created the visual
appearance of the kiosk interface and its functionality.


Wentworth Gunter Rasmussan, PhD
Instructional Designer

Dr. Rasmussan was born in Germany and brings an international
perspective to the project. He graduated from the University of
Berlin with a Masters in Pedagogy and Education as well as a
Doctorate in Instructional Design and Technology. His interests include learning outcomes,
cognitive constructivism and motivation in integrating technology in an educational setting. He
will be an evaluator and advisor to content and curriculum.


Henry Walker
Marketer

Mr. Walker is a unique talent who has previously been the marketing
director of Championship Vinyl and RST Video. He brings enthusiasm
and creative thinking in bringing the project to a wider audience. Mr.
Walker will be in charge of marketing the KiosKU to all new and
incoming students through presentations in rural communities, social
media advertising, flyers, and brochures.




Bunny Watson, MLS, PhD
Part-time Distance Learning Librarian

Dr. Watson is the Assistant Dean and Librarian Harold P.
Tuttlebutt Library for Online and Distance Education at the
University of Kansas. She obtained her Master of Library Science and PhD in Educational
Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She is dedicated to serving distance students and
providing quality assistance to their unique needs. The project will be planned, directed,
coordinated, implemented, and overseen by Dr. Watson.



Yolanda Haymer, MLIS
Part-time Document Writer

Mrs. Haymer is a Digital Humanities Librarian at the University of Kansas. She
received her Master of Library and Information Science from Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey. She is focused on creating content in the form of
subject guides and information regarding the library. Mrs. Haymer will be
responsible for data collection and transcription and provide report summaries prior to the
advisory team meetings.


Maurice Zaius, PhD
Professor of Information Technology at University of Kansas

Dr. Zaius received his Doctorate in Computer Science from the
University of Rhode Island. He currently teaches Algorithms and
Advanced Data Structures, Advanced Programming and Introduction to Programming and
Design. He will be creating course content to add to the KiosKU. Dr. Zaius course, Advanced
Programming, will be one of the preliminary courses offered.


Gandalf Guggenheim, PhD
Professor of Library and Information Science at University of Kansas

Dr. Guggenheim is an associate professor and the Information Literacy
Coordinator. He received his Doctorate in Library and Information
Science from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He currently teaches
Foundations of the Information Profession, Teaching Information Literacy, Web Design and
Technology for Information Professionals. He will be creating course content to add to the
KiosKU.
