A new feature summarization technique is proposed based on the co-occurrences of the feature vectors. Speech and music data are classified using the features computed from the cooccurrence matrices of ZCR ans STE Speech signals are classified according to their genre. Novel features to compute rhythmic and melodic aspects are proposed along with the feature based on amplitude envelope.

features are chosen judiciously Normally, frame level features are summarized by considering the mean and variance of the features. Here, a new feature summarization technique is proposed based on the co- occurrences of the feature vectors
26 July 2014 2 Contribution of the work (contd..) RANSAC is utilized for classification and that works well inspite of the presence of the diversity in audio data. Speech and music data are classified using the features computed from the cooccurrence matrices of ZCR ans STE Music signals are classified as song (music with voice) and instrumental (music without voice) using spectrogram based features 26 July 2014 3 Contribution of the work (contd..) Instrumental signals are classified hierarchically according to the instrument type. Wavelet and MFCC based features are deployed for this purpose Song is classified according to their genre. In this context novel features to compute rhythmic and melodic aspects are proposed along with the feature based on amplitude envelope 26 July 2014 4
