person rather than on his personality.
Observation rather than assumptions,
inferences or explanations.
Description rather than evaluation.

The present rather than the past.
Sharing of information rather than on
giving advice.
Alternatives rather than the best
path.

Needs of the receiver rather than needs
of the sender.
Modifiable items rather than on what
the person cannot do anything about
(constructive criticism).

Giver
Be specific in your feedback.
Cite behavior; do not criticize the person.
Direct criticisms on behavior which the
receiver can do something about.

Always check if your criticisms were well-
received.
Give both positive and negative
feedback.
Instead of prescribing or giving
judgments, explore alternatives with the
person you are giving feedbacks.

Receiver
Make sure you are not selective with what
you want to hear and what you dont
want to hear.
Dont justify your behaviors. Rather listen
attentively and check out what theyre
trying to tell you with your own
perception.

Receiver
Dont attack the person who is giving the
feedback by thinking of his faults and
getting back at him if its your turn to give
him feedback.
Remember the sandwich method in giving
feedback.
