Good morning, everyone and welcome to the first quarterly Learning Action Cell
session for this school year.
Some of you had asked me some time ago what this activity was and you even mentioned that you were not familiar with it. Well, according to DepEd Order no. 35, s. 2016, the Learning Action Cell primarily functions as a professional learning community for teachers that will help them improve practice and learner achievement. This serves as an opportunity for all of us to collegially discuss strategies that will lead to better teaching and learning processes. With my time spent here in ANHSAT, I have observed that most of you have what it takes to empower your students to become much, much better than who they are at the present moment. Each of you has something to contribute to make this school a sleeping giant wake up from its slumber and rise again just like before. I do enjoy listening to you as you happily recall the past memories when you were able to host spectacular events and how you managed them successfully. With our collaborative effort, we might be able to do it again because you still have that inner spark within all it takes is a light to flame it up. The morning session is set to have general topics for all of us to ponder and revisit. Later on this afternoon we will split this group by department and continue with other topics relevant to our areas of concern. I know that you are all intellectuals here so I encourage you to give a chance to our colleagues who will retool our minds with fresh insights. They need your support and not your criticism, no matter how constructive they might be in your opinion. This session should serve as an avenue for growth as we set aside negative outlooks and make room for reflection and admission of our weaknesses, mistakes and negligence if there are any. Hence, let us maintain a professional collaborative spirit to make this activity better than the usual boring, monotonous and dull in-service trainings where we have to endure because our attendance is constantly checked and monitored. Let us just enjoy each others company and engage in friendly discussion on the topics which will be presented later on. Thank you and have a pleasant day ahead.
