INTRODUCTION
From birth, we are taught what is right and wrong. Ethics is a trait that
most human beings acquire, but with differences in values and
perspectives, it may be hard to achieve. The problem lies in how ethics are
taught to people. It is our duty on this Earth to train ourselves to become
ethical in everything we do. We should be practicing good ethics
everywhere, at work, home, and school. Having good ethics should be part
of our daily lives. In people personal and professional lives, people can
and, unfortunately, sometimes do go against their moral and ethical
standards. Ethical standards are what it means to be a good person, the
social rules that govern our behaviour.
Ethics defined as a set of moral values or principles, ethics are an
integral part of the business world. With all the scrutiny businesses have
been receiving over the past decade, strong ethics are more important than
ever.
Business ethics has been discussed as a very important part of the
existence of the business. Ethics in business is essentially the study of
what constitutes the right and wrong or the good or bad behaviour in the
workplace environment. A business is an organization whose objective is to
provide goods or services for profit. The organization has a group of people
that work together to achieve a common purpose. The moral challenges
that these men and women face each day along with a whole range of
problems that could occur, are why ethics plays such an important role in
business.
