This debate is based on student participation and the presentation of GOOD evidence.

Keep track of
how many times the student speaks/ask questions/responds. If a student says something irrelevant to
the conversation, do not mark this down. This could get harder as the debate goes on, but take notes
on those students who are really involved and then turn your attention to those who are not. Using
your best judgment, prompt your students to ask questions or respond.

Taking into consideration IEPs, 504s, ect use your best judgment to apply the students grade. Points
can be given and taken away based on how well the information is presented and how relevant it is to
the conversation.

9+ times speaking = 45-50 points
7-8 times speaking = 35-44 points
5-6 times speaking = 20-34 points
3-4 times speaking = 10-19 points
1-2 times speaking = 0-9 points
