We as a group approached a security guard at Post office gate of IIM, Bangalore, we found him sitting

quietly in his open office on a stool. He was involved in deep thinking. His small mobile and walki talkie
set was lying on the table. We explained him about our purpose of having a small conversation, he
readily agreed on it.When we started having a chit chat, he was standing stiff initially and was answering
like in an interview. During the course of conversation, he regained his cool and answered with smile.
During the conversation, he continued his work of opening the gate and allowed people to cross the
gate after asking the purpose for coming inside IIM. He did not ask people going out of IIM.




Ques: Where do you come from?
Ans : His answer was staright that he hails from Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
Ques: Do you feel alone coming all the way from Assam for a job>
Ans; He answered in negative and said that he has got friends, who like him, have come to this place for
different jobs.
Ques: What were the reasons to come to this place?
Ans Montu Borah told his story of leaving his studies after completing his ninth class because of
increasing terrorism in villages nearby. Since he had to travel six Km every day for coming to school and
cross forests, he was scared. He spent two years after his studies at home, however prevailing
atmosphere in his village compelled him to come to Bangalore looking for a job.
Ques: Does he save money for future?
Ans: We found Montu Borah aware of importance of saving. He said that he saves approximately Rs
5000/- out of his income and he is doing so as he plans to get back to village after he saves sufficient
amount of money. He will marry a girl of his choice in his village.
Ques: What kind of girl are you looking for?
Ans : Though he tried to avoid the question by replying that the responsibility of finding match for him
rests with his mother, however he indicated that he has also got a girlfriend living in the same village.
Ques: How do you spend your time when you are free?
Ans : He said that he spends time on SMS and facebook at home whenever he is free.
