Seminar
Description:
Mississippi's current trust law is sparse and fragmented. As part
of the 2014 General Session of the Mississippi Legislature,
Governor Bryant signed two trust bills that will be effective July 1,
2014.

The first new law, the Mississippi Uniform Trust Code, provides
precise, comprehensive and easily accessible guidance on trust
law questions, including representation of beneficiaries; duties
and powers of trustees; liability of trustees and rights of
beneficiaries, trust advisors and trust protectors; and judicial and
non-judicial proceedings for trusts.

The second new law, the Mississippi Qualified Dispositions in
Trust Act, provides the legal vehicle for creating "domestic asset
protection trusts" in Mississippi.

This seminar seeks to provide comprehensive information on
both of these new laws.
Who Should Attend:
CEOs, Trust Officers, and bank attorneys.
What You Will Learn:
Review of how the new Uniform Trust Code law will benefit beneficiaries, trustees, trust
providers and trust protectors.
How the new Uniform Trust Code can be used by trust providers to encourage the use
of trusts in estate planning.
How Mississippis Uniform Trust Code compares to our surrounding states.
How to set up an asset protection trust under the new Qualified Dispositions in Trust
Act.
