YEAR 8 SURVIVAL ASSIGNMENT

Choose one of the landscape types and explain using either a narrative (
story) , diary, journal, blog entries of approx. 500 words how you
survived being stranded in this environment. You need to cover issues
of food, shelter, water. You will need to include a map of the area you
have been isolated in.


You will need to hand up


-
a copy of a map with the location and route you travel over two days.
-
need to include distance they travel ( using scales on maps )
-
temperature details of the area. ( this can be mentioned as it rained continuously but also
needs to be shown as a climate graph for that region.
-
500 word min written response - it may include images and sketches if you want.

-You will be given a random longitude and latitude location.

-You will be able to choose 3 items from a list to have with you - these and your normal
clothes -are the only man made items you will be able to use.
Other things to consider

if you build/construct something eg snowshoes/shelter you need to include details on how
you do it eg dont just write i built snowshoes write I found two long flexible branches and
using my rope i bound the two ends together, then found a smaller piece to act as a brace in
the middle. I then wove the rope between the branches etc. Use google etc to help you find
these instructions.

you will be assessed on group skills - that is making sure everyone in the group contributes
to the final product. ( see attached rubric )

a torch with 30 minutes of battery left.

a water purifying tablet
