Castle Assignment v.

Your task is to research a castle that existed during the medieval period and find out the
following. You are then to use this to recreate in Minecraft a model of your castle with key
features placed on it: This will be presented on a poster. Drafting will be done in your books.

You will have up to two weeks to complete the research and poster and then a week to
complete your Minecraft model. (Once your group has finished the poster and it has been
marked you can start the model – you must receive a C or higher to start your model)

S The history of the castle. This includes when and why it was built and who lived in
the castle during the time it was used as a castle. This is to be presented as a
timeline. 10 -30 dates

S Show on a map where the castle is located. Describe the physical environment and
any advantages or disadvantages there may have been to building it in that place.
You must include a climate graph and compare it with a climate graph of Port
Lincoln. A World Map. Country Map and local region map. All must be referenced.

S Write a short biography of one of the people who owned and lived in the castle.

S Find at least four standard images and two aerial view images. If you can, include a
plan of the castle.

S Describe in words the key features that your castle has – these should be then
included in your Minecraft model. Min 100 Max 200

Choose one of the following : This is an Individual Task.


Should be between 200-500 words and submitted into seqta assessments. “Castle individual
task”

1. Write a diary for someone who lives or works at the castle.


2. Write a plan of attack for how you would attack this castle if you were the enemy
3. Research the food for a feast the castle is going to hold. Write up a menu and short
description for the meal.
4. Write a glossary for at least 20 words about castles ( words and your own
definitions)
