Q1. Read the story “In the Kingdom of Fools” from your Supplementary textbook
‘Moments’ and ‘The Snake and the Mirror’ from Beehive. Then, present the main
themes and characters of the stories using a web chart/mind map. The distinctive
character traits of the main characters and the main themes should be neatly
organised such that a person who is not familiar with the lesson should be able to
get the gist by just looking at it. Please DO NOT write the summary of the story.

Q2. Depict any one of the following poems from NCERT Book- Beehive in a
creative manner as an artistic representation and present it in the class.

How to do: Use your imagination to convert the poem in an artistic representation i.e collage making with
pictures from magazine or newspapers to be presented in the class. The presentation should be self-

As per CBSE guidelines, students of Class IX have to submit a handwritten project on any one of the
related topics on Disaster Management. Students are requested to utilise their summer vacation to
complete this project which will be followed by viva voce/written assignment.
