PRELIMINARY CAUSE: Accidental
ASSISTING AGENCIES: ATF FBI MSP OTHER
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office where investigating
an unrelated incident at the Motel and detected an odor of smoke coming from room 119. A small fire
was discovered in the bathroom's ceiling fan. Those deputies used a portable fire extinguisher to
extinguish the small fire before it spread. The motel was evacuated properly during the event. There
were no reported injuries.
