SHORT COURSE ON COMPUTING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BASICS
Background of the Course
The Institute of Finance Management announces a short course on Computing & Information Technology Basics.
The course is designed to provide participants with knowledge and skills on effective utilizing computing and
information technology in their daily pursuing in a professional manner. It also prepare participants who are enrolled
in middle and high learning institutions so as to equip them with skills necessary to support them in studying. The
course will consists of four modules; Computer basics, Using the Internet for learning and communication, Secure
utilization of computers and mobile devices and Hands-on.

Learning Outcomes of the course:
At the end of the course the participants would be able to:
Understand the use of computers and internet in business, social and academic aspects.
Be able to automate their daily office work such as printing, email etc.
Be able to secure their computers asserts from hackers.
Acquire all necessary knowledge and skills that it benefits them in IT modules when joining in colleges or
universities.
Target Group
This training is relevant to participants interested in computing and information technology. It is therefore designed
to accommodate form six & form four students prepared to join college and universities, personal secretaries, IT
support officers and executive officers.

Course Delivery Method
Delivery approach will be through a series of lectures, practicals to give participants hand-on skills, group
discussions and presentations.

Course Venue and Dates
This training is intended to be held at the premises of the Institute of Finance management (IFM) located along
Shaaban Robert Street in Dar es Salaam. Date: 08

Fees and Mode of Payment
A fee of TZS 75,000/=will be charged to cover registration and access to all course materials. Participants will have
to arrange for their own accommodation. We kindly request you to deposit the fees to The Rector IFM, through Acc.
