ANALYSING
Analysing is the third process of information systems which transforms data into useful
information. This process involves looking for patterns or meanings in data so that it can
be represented and summarized so that humans can better understand of an
information system. It also consists of characters, words numbers, images, sound and
video. In this process, it also doesnt require any original data to alter.
For fast processing, the hardware requirements are to allow large amount of primary and
secondary storage and fast process for rapid calculations.
EXAMPLES OF ANALYSING:
- Navigation Page
o The use of previews makes it suitable for users ability to navigate a site
using visuals. Another process of analysing involved is coding used. The
input of Go to Frame and Stop Action Script coding allowed the user to
input a specific frame number of a page to be redirected and stopped to
ensure the Flash does not keep running/ playing.

Figure 1.1. Example of Actions on Frame 31
In the example above, there is a stop script on line 3, indicating the clip is to be
stopped on the certain frame.
o Gantt chart was a table in excel to analyse the time allocation of each of the
stages in developing a system.
- Band Tour Assignment
o There were calculations of total costs of venues, air travel and recreational
activities sorted on Excel to analyse the data into an organised, easily
accessed format.
TOOLS USED IN THIS SYSTEM:
Hardware: Software: Non Computer:
- Primary storage
including RAM and
ROM
- Fast Processing
(Intel core i5)
- Graphs and charts to
identify trends
- File comparison
- Sorting
- Manual searching
filing system

SOCIAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES
Socially and ethical issues to do with analysing include appropriate information
use, data accuracy and security of data would be the main issues. Inappropriate
information use would include analysing the data for its unintended purpose, and
without authorisation, while data accuracy makes sure that the data transformation is
still correct, and if not, the user would be reading incorrect information. Also the
security of data would make sure that the data analysed is not misplaced or
inappropriately used.
