Direct Object Pronouns

Nouns that directly receive the
action of the verb. (She kicks
the ball ball = D.O.P.) Direct
object pronouns replace the
noun (just like subject pronouns
can replace a name).
Direct object pronouns
me (me) nos (us)
te (you
inf.)
os (yall)
lo/la
(it/him/her
/you f.)
los/las
(them/
you all f.)
Ejemplos
Juan patea la pelota. Los chicos
patean la pelota. Juan kicks the
ball. The boys kick the ball
La pelota is the direct object.
Instead of writing la pelota again (to
avoid repeating myself), I can put the
direct object pronoun (la) in front of the
verb.
Juan patea la pelota. Los chicos la
patean.
I used la because la is replacing la
pelota.
Ejemplos
Ellos tiran los juguetes.
Juguetes is them and masculine so
we will use los.
Ellos los tiran.

Yo compro una bicicleta.
Bicicleta is it and feminine so we will use
la.
Yo la compro.
