BEFORE THE LESSON:
Photocopy 1 pop-up card page for each student;
make an example card to show the class.
MATERIALS:
For this project each student will need:
1 A4 printed pop-up card page
1 A4 colored bristol page
scissors, glue, crayons or colored markers
TIME:
1 class period
CHRISTMAS POP-UP CARD
INSTRUCTIONS SHEET
O Look at picture 1. Fold each page in half.
Cut the printed page along the doted line. Cut
the bristol along the fold and put it aside--you
wont need it untl later.
O Fold the top part of the printed paper in
half along the line. Make sure that you fold so
that the print is on the outside. (Dont worry--
the print will be covered with the bristol paper
in Step 8).
O Cut 2 lines across the folded paper, along
the 2 short doted lines.
O Fold the strip youve just made away from
the cuts.
O Turn the card so that the cuts are on top.
Now open it.
O Pull the folded strip into the card. When
you fold the card, the strip will fold at.
O Color and decorate the card, the trees and
the Merry Christmas rectangle. Cut out the
trees, and glue them to the botom-half of the
folded strip--the botom edge should lie against
the inside of the card. Cut out the Merry
Christmas rectangle, ll in the To and From
blanks, and glue to the inside of the card.
O Finally, glue the colored bristol paper to
the outside of the card. Color and decorate as
you like.
