Growth of vehicles at Brawijaya University which is comparable to the

increased number of new students each year, is inversely proportional to the

available parking space. Obviously this will have an impact on the situation on
campus. Parking on campus streets is not a rare sight, this will lead to a
narrowing of the road that would lead to congestion. Not to mention other
impacts such as air pollution. Bi-Cells (Bike for Street Lighting) is designed to
be able to solve these problems. In addition to reducing motor vehicle
congestion and air pollution on campus, Bi-Cells also can reduce the power
consumption of hundreds of street lighting installed at Brawijaya University

when we are riding a bike, we produce kinetic energy to the wheel rotation.
Here we try to harness the kinetic energy of the wheels on the bike to drive a
generator. Generator is useful to convert the kinetic energy into electrical
energy. Then the electrical energy produced by the generator is stored into the
battery is on the bottom of the bike. account after the battery is on the bike is
used for charging a battery that is on street lighting poles. battery then existing
on street lighting poles will be used as a source of electrical energy to power the
street lights.

street lighting battery capacity is 7AH
lamp power consumption 300mA X 11 Jam(18.00-05.00) = 3.3 AH
Bicycle Battery Capacity 5AH
Bicycle Battery Charging: 500mA per hour. With a minimum speed of 400rpm
With full capacity, public street lighting can be used 22 hours or 2 days (18:00
to 5:00 a.m. per day)

This bike can save expenses brawijaya university. In total there are 761 PJU
lamp at UB.
761 PJU lamp power 60 watts: 761 X 60 X Rp.1.054 = Rp.48.125,66 / Hours
One month could save: Rp.48.125,66 X 11 hours X 30 Days =
Rp.15.881.467,80
One year can save: Rp. 15,881,467.80 X 12 months = Rp.190.577.613,60
