Lets Recap!
Writing: We continued to become more familiar with our writing folders. The students
made topic lists, and chose their first topic they would like to write about! We also
discussed the concept of a Writers Workshop and introduced the Writing Station and
its materials.
Health: We read a little more in our monthly pamphlet. We focused on important
vocabulary words and took a Fire and Smoke quiz. It appears we are all prepared for
that type of emergency!
Lets RecapContinued.
Math: This week we worked on a
variety of different subtraction
strategies. We also introduced
Number Corner this week. The month
of September focuses on
measurement patterns. We also
initiated our 3
rd
grade wide small
groups. Weve accomplished a lot!
Reading: We are continuing to
review our Caf strategies. We also
began our Spelling Word Work this
week. The students are doing a great
job of picking good fit books in
library! We continue to work on
building up our stamina in Read to
Self and Work on Writing.
S.S.: We read, discussed, and
investigated photographs of many
different physical features. We also
learned about the different regions
found in the U.S., their climate, and
how it affects the way we live.
