FFC commenced commercial production of urea in 1986 with annual capacity of 771,111
metric tons

plant increased to :97,111 metric tons per year
&roduction capacity was enhanced #y esta#lishin% a second plant in 199. with annual

respectively
FFC had to face very tou%h competition from the #e%innin% !his competition coupled
with the hu%e surplus of urea in the domestic mar'et posed a %reat challen%e to the
company in the initial years FFC not only met the challen%e #y capturin% the desired
mar'et share #ut in the process, enhanced the #rand ima%e of its product ,ona urea which
has #ecome the num#er one #rand -urin% the period 198. to 198: when a lar%e urea
surplus e9isted in the country, FFC pioneered urea e9ports which not only helped in
