Synopsis and Objective:

The main objective of the study is to determine the structural behaviour of segmental
composite skew slabs. This will be achieved by FEM analysis and experimental verification
of different models for push off test and flexure test using ATENA software.
1. Study the effect of diameter of the shear connector for truss type and lattice type.
2. Study of angle of inclination of the bars in the shear connectors in truss and lattice
type.
3. Study the effect of skew-ness of the slab shape on flexural properties of composite
slabs
All slabs for push off tests will have sizes 1m X 1m, and for the flexure test a base
dimension of 1m and different values of widths depending on the angle of skew. All slabs
will have a depth of 150mm (each part being 75mm each).
Please note the dimensions mentioned above are for the numerical modeling and
experimental verification only, the sizes of actual specimens used for construction will be
much larger.
