I gazed into the mirror and searched beyond the face staring back at me
I saw the wonder in the brown eyes
the curiosity deep in the depths
the smile in the lines around the eyes
that told of a wicked sense of humor
of good times and positive life experiences
the wrinkles like road maps
to destinations full of wonder and excitement
and sometimes despair and sadness
each line telling a story
each one a lesson
each one leading into the next
none too deeply furrowed that their signicance was lost
struggles and triumphs, weaknesses and strengths sharing the same line
out of the struggles and weaknesses came the strengths and triumphs
the positives born from the negatives
life didn!t take me down
it threw some roadblocks in my path
which were eventually overcome and pushed out of the way
to clear the path for the adventures and life yet to be had
