We recently had a Halloween Party at our school. It was a great chance for our students to learn a bit more about the holiday and play some fun English games! Here are some pictures from the event.

This was our favorite Halloween game called Mystery Box. Students were blind folded and had to describe the items they felt in the box.

Halloween with Luke at Haking Wong

Haking Wong hosted a Halloween event for its students on the 29th and so" of October, which was a huge success.

I would like to give a big thanks to all those who took part, and my EAT and other students who got involved to make Halloween a 'fantastically gruesome time.'

There were 4 games:

Catch the cockroach Kill the vampire

Fish the Pumpkins

Costume design competition

Monster Twister

Lou harassing students at lunch to promote the Azkaban Jail

My family does not usually celebrate Halloween, so it was fun organizing our Halloween Fair at Shatin. I loved dressing up, playing games and pretending to be a scary monster!

My favourite part was our AZKABAN JAI L from the movie Harry Potter. Some students and I made a jail and arrested other students if we thought they were naughty or if one of their friends told us a crime they had done. For example, not doing their homework or if they were late for class! They had to answer three questions to earn their freedom. So much fun!

Close your eyes and think about the happiest moment in your life. Go on, close your eyes and think about

it. Do you have that memory?

Good. That's what the Tsing Yi English Corner is

like. It's like a pink pony with a cotton candy mane ready to take you to Hong Kong Disneyland. And with workshops that took us through the exciting lands of idioms, activities that taught us how to pitch a movie and events like The Great VTC Halloween Party of 2009, it's clear that Tsing Yi closely resembles a caramel apple on a Christmas day. But it doesn't end there. Just wait for the rest of the year.

The Western Music activity will introduce you to new music and put you in touch with people all over the world and the U.S. Geography workshop will teach you the difference between H- Town and Bean Town and how those cities got their nicknames.

Karaoke is coming too! And Pronunciation

classes. And the Christmas Party? You'll have to see it to believe it.

So stay tuned, because if you like a cool breeze on a summer day or Sharpei puppies in a wicker basket, you'll love what the Tsing Yi English Corner has planned for you this month.

Also some new activities have just started: 'Small groups' (extra English tutorial lessons) 'Ask Simon ..... ' (homework support).

See me for more details!

Hope to see you in the 3/F LRC soon!

October was a great month in the GILL, many students visited me and had a good time! We decorated Halloween cupcakes, played with Halloween face paint, and watched scary movies every Friday! The HITDG girls made some cute cupcakes that we posted and had students vote to see who had the best one. We also had a Fall English cafe with cheese and crackers, toast with jam, and apple cider. We took many photos together and have started a photo album both in the GILL and on our Facebook group!

Electrical engineering and HITDC (hotel) students decorating cupcakes during our Halloween cupcake event. Nice to see both girls and boys working together!

Abi was very good at face painting and she painted Jane's face too :)

Halloween Funfair

I ran a Halloween Funfair at my campus.

It went really well and all of the students seemed to be really happy.

We played lots of games, whilst the students learned more about English and Halloween.
