Resumen de la unidad
In this Unit students will identify, name and classify the means of transportation. Also they will write
paragraph and make oral presentations. In addition, they will elaborate a series of applications such as:
Montage, OneNote. By the end of this unit students will be able to demonstrate knowledge with the use of
these tics.

What are the means of transportation?

Observation: The teacher will hand out an SQA to find out how much
information students know about the topic. Also theyll watch a video on means
of transportation. After that, they will answer questions such as : why is
important the means of transportation and how they affect the whole world? In
addition, the teacher will create a One Note http://1drv.ms/1w7KlQG for the
students and provide a tutorial on One Drive so they can share their
information .

Resources: Computer, data show projector, speakers, paper, and pen.
Aplications: Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point.

Pre-Activities: Provide information on the SQA about means of transportation.

After watching the video students will comment with the teacher about the
importance of means of transportation.
While- Activities Individually , they will write a short paragraph about the
importance of means of transportation .Share using One Note

Once they have written their paragraph, they will make groups of four to
consolidate their information on the importance of means of transportation.

writer, and speaker.

Closing Activity: Students will elaborate a power point based on their
paragraphs so they can share information about the importance of the means of
transportation.

How do we classify the means of transportation?
Observation: The teacher will introduce the topic asking exploratory questions
or brainstorming about the classifications of modes of transportation. After that,
they will watch some slide share about the modes of transportation.

Resources: Computer, notebook, pencil, color pencil, speakers, and board.

Pre- Activities: The teacher will start with the questions Do you know any
types of transportation? And How do you get to school every day? Students will
give examples of different modes they are familiar with. Also, they will write
the new words in their notebook
While Activities: Students will watch some slide share in google

Once they have watched the slideshare they will proceed to the follow activity:
Students will make three teams and each one of five students. Each team will be
called Land, Water and Air. In addition, each group will draw objects according
to the group they belong to it. Finally, they will place their drawing under the
correct category placed on the board.

How do modes of transportation have changed throughout time?
Observations: In this session, first students will make groups of 5 in order to
accomplish the activities. The students will look for information in old and new
modes of transportation. Then, they will watch a tutorial Montage on YouTube.
Finally , they will create a Montage.
Resources: Computer, speakers, data show projector.

Applications: Google, Montage
Pre-Activities: The teacher will ask Do you think that the mode of
transportation have changed? what are the advantages and disadvantages?
Students will answer orally and give their personal opinion. Then the teacher
will give the instructions for the next activities.
While- Activities: Students will gather in group to discuss the role for each one
as coordinator, writer, technologist and speaker. After that, They will watch the

presentation of it.

SQA: It is a tecnic that consist in three moments: what i know ,what I learned and what I want to learn. Its
used to find a conclusion to a particular problem.
Exploratory Questions: These relate to the meanings, implications and awakened interests. Involve
analysis, critical, reflective and creative thinking, discoveries of one's thoughts or concerns.
Brainstorming: These relate to the meanings, implications and awakened interests. Involve analysis,
critical, reflective and creative thinking, discoveries of one's thoughts or concerns.
Paragraph: A collection of related sentences dealing with a topic.
Power Point: Complete presentation graphics package. It is use to produce a presentation. This program
offers word processing, outlining, graphics, and presentation management tools.
Montage: it is a flexible web-based service that makes it fun and easy to create and share a visual album
of the web on the topics you care about. You can design your Montage around any topic you can
imagine by adding content that pulls information from a variety of sources, including RSS feeds,
Twitter, Bing News and Youtube.

Students must have basic computer skills and basic English writing skills. Also vocabulary knowledge about the
topic.
Procedimientos
The students will develop a series of assignment and use different tecnics such as SQA, Exploratory questions,
Brainstorming, Montage, Deep Zoom, and Power Point. By the end, students will be able to aply these tics and
demonstrate the context knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the unit.
