 Enterprise collaboration
 Enterprise collaboration is a system of communication among
corporate employees that may encompass the use of
a collaboration platform, enterprise social networking tools, a
corporate intranet and the public Internet.
 Enterprise collaboration enables employees in an organization to
share information with one another and work together on
projects from different geographic locations through a
combination of software technologies, networking capabilities
and collaborative processes.
 Workplace at Facebook
Workplace is a collaborative platform run by Facebook.Inc, which
was started on October 10, 2016. It may be used to communicate
via groups, to chat with colleagues and offers the social networks
features in a corporate environment. Its testing started in the
beginning of 2015.
Workplace is a mobile and web app that aims to keep your team
members connected. The service, which used to be called
Facebook Work, offers features like Facebook Groups, Facebook
Messenger, built-in audio and video calling, and access to the
social network’s profiles, Events, and Live video tools.
Price & Design

As opposed to Facebook's website blue colour, it uses grey as its Visual brand identity.
Workplace offers a free 3-months trial account and companies with up to 1,000
monthly active users will be charged $3 for each user, from 1001–10,000 active users,
Workplace charges $2 per user and businesses with more than 10,000 active users pay
$1 each user. For non governmental organizations and educational organizations there
are no costs.

Security concern

The data belongs to the employer, company and employees, not Facebook". Only
office data can be transferred across the network, and businesses can modify, delete,
or export their data at any time.
The company is the sole controller of access to the platform and can also administer
access to Messenger groups. The platform is not connected to personal Facebook
accounts and data is not shared with Facebook.
 Facebook Workplace features
Workplace includes the best of Facebook, such as
 News Feed,
 the ability to create and share in Groups,
 Live, Reactions, Search, and Trending posts,
 and chat so you can communicate with colleagues in real
time.
 There's even something called Multi-Company Groups,
which allows employees from different organizations can
work together

 Workplace by Facebook develops complex core
applications using a variety of full-featured computer
languages, including C++, Java, Python, and Ruby
 It also consists of eight-core Linux servers running MySQL,
an open-source database server application.
 also uses PHP(Hypertext Preprocessor) for boosting
performance.

 Front end: Server operates on LAMP(Linux, Apache, MySQL,
and PHP)
 Workplace by Facebook operates on the Linux and Apache web
servers.
 MySQL stores key values of data, and distributes across the
servers.
 PHP is used as a web programming language.
